    Hello all...

Why am I here? I was Raised baptist, but I have come to question, research, and understand the true origin of all religions. Although questions rise about religions, it does not diminish my faith and belief in God. I just want to seek the truth of what God expects from me, not what Pagans would have me believe of them.

I have an interest in everyone's input and take on the religions of the world.

As I watched the History channel's The Bible with my grandson yesterday..It sparked the curiosity AGAIN. If the Romans hated Jesus, and ultimately were the key to his Crucifixion, why do we live by the Roman catholic ways today? Isnt every bible based off of the KJV? Why?

    Hello, Marsha...welcome to SciForums.

You bring up subjects/questions that should probably be Posted as a Thread in the Religion area of SciForums.
That being said, you stated that you have "...research(ed), and understand the true origin of all religions", so you must be aware of the fact that most Bibles/Religious Texts originated many years before the King James Version. So how could they be "based off of the KJV"!?!?

Again, Marsha, this is not the sub-forum to discuss this issue. Please feel free to start a Thread in the Religion sub-forum to initiate a discussion on your research, understanding and questions.

Marsha, once again - welcome to SciForums and Happy Holidays!

Well, if you believe in an all powerful God then Jesus was suppose to die, which means the romans were simply an instrument of God's divine power.

    Welcome to the Sciforums.

While we have many evangelical Christian members who spend a lot of time proselytizing here, a lot of us are non - theists and enjoy science rather than religion. Thus the name "Sciforums. The "Sci" is for "science", not "religion". Make a note, eh?

"Pagans" can be taken as an insult by those of us who are not xtians.

Want to learn about religions and where they came from? Try "The Hero With a Thousand Faces" by Joseph Campbell. Want to learn about your own religion? Try "Who Wrote the New Testament" by Mack.

Those 2 should give you some insight on how many of us other folks think. Hint: It may be different than the way you do.

Hint #2: The Romans didn't give a rodents posterior about Jesus the Palestinian stone mason & pharisee nor did they crucify him. That part of the myth came along much later.

I think the Romans were probably indifferent to Jesus. He was killed like many others for daring to oppose the Roman occupation. Of course, the Romans later adopted Christianity. I guess all those martyrs impressed them.

Marsha , the importance is not religion but how do we follow the teaching of Jesus and trough his teaching we connect with our Creator. I don't think Romans in Jesus time hated Jesus , The establishment killed Him, which were the intellectuals. The masses probably did not know how to read a write. Is the same as it was done at the Inquisition , the intellectual organized the masses , which were illiterate and made the masses do what they want . We have the same thing now in Islam, the Mula are the intellectuals organize the masses to do all sorts of killing even to commit suicide in the name of Alla.
