Mod Hat — This is a splinter thread

These posts are splintered from "2016 Fun: The Worst Ticket", for being off topic.

Look, it's rather quite simple: Generally speaking, if you need to change the subject of a thread from the first response onward, start your own damn thread. After all, there's no shame in not wanting to give any real effort to something that is largely speculative, anyway. But if you're just not up to putting any thought into the question, then—

    (A) don't post.

    (B) post in a different thread.

    (C) start a different thread, if that's what you need in order to accommodate the subject you're trying to change the discussion to.

To the one, this doesn't seem like a particularly complicated point to figure out.

To the other, some people need it explained to them.

It might be that if the Republicans win both houses then it wouldn't really matter who wins the POTUS for any vetoes would be overridden by Congress.

It takes a 2/3 vote in both the House and Senate to override a presidential veto. Republicans are not likely to get a 2/3 majority in both houses.

You never know with Obamas opinion polls down in the 30's it might just happen.

Well for starters, Obama's job approval ratings are in the 40's. It's not likely, even with Republican gerrymandering and voting suppression. Contrary to pundit wisdom, I think Democrats will do better than expected this year...a year in which most of the states holding Senate and House elections are Republican states. Americans may be stupid, but they are not that stupid.
