I took this personality test online and the result was pretty accurate. I'd like to know if this is the case for you too? I know some people who think personality tests are stupid and not reliable at all.

I took the test from 16personalities.com we are going to be discussing them next week (because a number of businesses now utilize some form of a personality assessment as part of their hiring process so I thought it might fit here) but one of the points we'll be discussing is whether or not majority of people who have taken one feel it holds accuracy in correlation to their true self. Also we'll be focusing on companies that offer these tests for purchase and their detailed explanations and discussing if there is an accuracy discrepancy in the paid vs the free version.

INTP - Get the same results every time I take the test. Description is very accurate.

What you are referring to is the Myers Briggs Personality Inventory. It has been around for a very long time, and it is fairly accurate and generally helpful. But it is not error proof. My results consistently vary between ENTP to ENTJ depending on the test. It is used to help place you in the right type of job. Each personality type has its strong points and its associated weaknesses. It can help employers understand who they are hiring and it can help individuals better understand themselves, understand their strengths and weaknesses. Understand can lead to better professional and personal performance.

I have reservations about its use in the hiring process. It has the potential for abuse or misuse. But I can also see value in it. Briggs Myers should be just one factor in the hiring process.

    Test at http://www.16personalities.com/

    My result was ENFJ
I answered the questions honestly, and it's got my personality about right.
The good bits anyway. I am slightly less perfect in real life than it indicates.

Are all the personality types this complimentary?
While it is very pleasant to be praised, some of this seems like I am being "buttered up".

I've just tried giving the opposite to my previous answers.
My result in this case was ESTJ

My previous analysis was more accurate I think

    @Gremmie
No, a Sentinel would win that.
I would be worried about hitting one of the bystanders.
I am a Jimmy Stewart cowboy as opposed to a Lee J Cobb.

I filled in all the answers and the computer just turned itself off. I wonder what this can mean.

(Utilizing the same test that Captain Kremmen took)
Three out of four attempts , i was straight INTJ, ( I had to test for consistency and i was honest with all my answers) The fourth and first attempt i was ISTJ.

    PERSONALITY:
    INTJ
    VARIANT:
    TURBULENT
    ROLE:
    ANALYST
You are one of the Analysts - a rational and impartial individual who enjoys intellectual pursuits and prizes independence. You are known for your strategic thinking skills, self-confidence and impressive knowledge.

In all honesty , the detailed overview of the INTJ type described me down to the letter for a good portion of my personality... although i did some some traits in me that are attributed to being ISTJ.
