Film/Movie Recommendations

It's Hollywood meets Evangelion - the Japanese anime about giant robots protecting the earth from ever-more powerful creatures.
It's fun but built out of cliches. And it doesn't take itself too seriously, I don't think.

I pulled it up in Netflix and can't remember watching it so I added it to my Queue.

Saturn 3 1980 R
Stanley Donen (Singin' in the Rain) changes direction here with a three-character sci-fi thriller set in the rings of Saturn. Kirk Douglas and Farrah Fawcett play environmental scientists (and lovers) who are developing food for consumption on Earth from their Saturn space station. The couple's troubles begin when a crazed scientist (Harvey Keitel) arrives and turns loose his 8-foot-tall robot on them. Novelist Martin Amis wrote the screenplay.

Cast:
Farrah Fawcett, Kirk Douglas, Harvey Keitel

Farrah Fawcett, Kirk Douglas, now there's two names you don't see together very often.

My favorite movie quote.

Pain & Gain "I watch a lot of movies, I know what I'm doing" (The Rock, Mark Wahlberg)

its a movie you have to go into with the right expectations

Fair enough. I guess I made a mistake by looking it up on Wikipedia, because it was directed by Guillermo del Toro (who is great), has a decent cast, and somehow made over $400 million worldwide...all without me even hearing of it until now.

I remember watching Evangelion a long, long time ago and loving it. I'm assuming this movie is nowhere near as good?

I watched Kill Bill Vol. 1 on TV the other day. I've seen it dozens of times and own the DVD, but still watch it when it comes on. I'm a big Tarantino fan, and that's probably my favorite of his movies.

I've watched both volumes several times and never know when I will watch them again, but I'm sure I will.

I don't have a good memory of this one but Netflix shows I only rated it 4 stars. So I liked it, but it could have been better.

I've only ever watched the re-worked Evangelion "films" that have been done recently. They're good, and much more philosophical than "Pacific Rim" - but then there's much longer to tell the story.
"Pacific Rim" is enjoyable, in a popcorn, switch brain off, don't ask too many questions sort of way.
I think it depends as well how strong you like your cheesiness to be! :)

Cowboy sense you liked Kill Bill Vol 1&2 I'm going to out on a limb and suggest you probably like other high body count movies? One that comes to mind that I enjoyed more than once was Commando.
