I own a Compaq 2102 laptop and lat night I installed the demo version of Sisoft Sandra to see how my system rated. I printed off the results and showed them too my fellow NERDDS. One of them thinks I have a motherboard virus. Under the processer info there was a warning that said this:Warning W2533 : Disabled host controllers are present Check BIOS settings. And right under it
Warning W227 : CPU FSB (front side bus) speed is higher than rated FSB! Reduce FSB speed!! The problem is in my BIOS(Pheonix) the only thing i can change is Boot and Administrater passwords. Please tell soon!!! This is my system:mobile Athlon 1800+ 266MHZ FSB 512 DDR SDRAM(266mhz) ATI chipset

Why don't you get a decent antivirus and find out?
    Try Kaspersky.

No. There are only a few viruses that can tamper with the motherboard in any way, but they render the computer unusable.
    Norton misses viruses. Try Kaspersky.

You may also want to scan for trojans as well. I'd recommend TDS-3:

On a motherboard like that your FSB Frequency settings are likely jumpers, or they are set in hardware somehow. You should check the manufacturer's site to see if there's a bios update. If so you should (or have one of your nerd friends help) update your bios so the thing will fix your FSB settings.

I know alex. The person who told him he had a virus thinks a byte is the same as a bit. Alex you dont have a virus. Some motherboard slightly overclock the FSB by default
