    Metallica...

Have you heard Lucie Silvas's version of "Nothing Else Matters"? When Metallica tours Australia, they invite her on stage for that one, and they rearrange it to accommodate her piano.

How about Apocalyptica's version of "Enter Sandman"?

I saw him do a solo show in Alexandria a few years ago. It was fabulous. Part of it was just him with his guitar, the rest was with a full band. He played for two hours.

He shared some of the advice he'd gotten from older performers. Tony Bennett told him, "Never be afraid to lower the key, or to put the lyrics on a teleprompter."

Hi, I have not kept up with them or the newer stuff but was aware they worked with classical musicians etc. I will check the two you listed. I still recall the time 30 years ago first hearing say like the first two or three Metallica albums…i think at the time it was very original and the solos are just one amazing one after another.

I should have added some commentary at the time i posted.

Right now i am really into California soul from the 70s and 80s and some early rap. I was amazed at how good it is\was and i just recently heard much of it from playing a pc game so it is new for me.

Here is something really good and heard it first time a few weeks ago.

There are so many more i heard from the game so maybe i will pick out the good ones and post them and people who play it will know it…

I saw them live several times in their heyday. One of the most memorable concerts was them doing the entire "And Justice for All" album, with Queensryche as the opening act, doing the entire "Operation: Mindcrime" album. (Metallica's "black" album and Queensryche's "Empire" were still in the future.)

I saw Metallica again a few years later in a stadium show at the Rose Bowl. They co-headlined with Guns'n'Roses.
I'm too white to appreciate that kind of music.

We've got tickets for the Eagles next month, and for Arlo Guthrie's "Alice's Restaurant" 25th anniversary tour next year.

I dedicate this song to my brother JIH. He loves rap while I'm more selective about this particular genre. Pe-ace:
