Still waiting on an answer MR, or do you admit that you have no good reason why simple biology wouldn't apply to Bigfoot?

Right..I accept the accounts of eyewitnesses with no agenda over the claims of those who live in a bubble of absolute ideological skepticism. That's just human nature. You don't believe a human being's account of an event who wasn't even there over the account of those who WERE there. To do so belies a prejudice toward an ideological stance on such experiences themselves. A sort of religious belief system that presupposes that such beings cannot exist. We don't know that. And no amount of science could ever entail that to be the case. Science can at best say we've never turned one up. But such has always been the nature of science. At no point is it qualified to make proclamations about that can and can't exist.

It's been confirmed. But as yet I see you have failed to acknowledge that confirmation.
It would be intellectually honest to do so, even though it will probably and totally detract from any validity of Bigfoot, Abominable Snowmen etc.

Unless it's unicorns. Those can't exist.

Do you have some eyewitness accounts of unicorns? Let's hear them..

Those people of course may have misinterpreted what they saw, they could be highly gullible and impressionable troubled souls, and of course when taken against the facts that never as yet has any biological trace of one of these rather ambiguous creatures ever been found.
These rather impressionable people then gradually then over time, become more and more impressionable as the tide of opinion and science throws more and more doubt on such obvious illusions, and in an effort to protect their sensibilities, start to add even more confirmation bias to their rather ambiguous isolated sightings.

If you've never seen a unicorn, how can you believe in ponies?

You have yet to provide anything credible, MR. There is no credible evidence that bigfoot exists.

Instead, they all seem to be on crank websites.

Until something concrete is found, like say, oooh a body, an autopsy and dissection and real samples, then I am afraid that people will remain unconvinced.

One thing I would like to ask you, though, is to please stop copying and pasting whole articles. You seem to copy and paste whole articles all the time instead of actually posting in your own words. This is actually a breach of copyright laws and also against this site's rules for that reason.

Actually quite a few people are convinced by these eyewitness accounts along with many others, photo evidence, video evidence, plaster casts of footprints, and fur samples. So no, you don't speak for all "people." And I'm not posting articles instead of my words. I'm posting the stories in addition to my words. This can clearly be seen thruout the thread.

He's unwilling to acknowledge basic Biology... why would other such facts/problems (such as plagiarism) be a concern?

Quite a few people also believe in God and believe in miracles and many believe they are eyewitnesses to miracles. Does not mean anything at all. Until there is actual evidence - such as a live specimen, or even a dead specimen which can be tested and examined by scientists and declared a new species, I and I can assure you, many people, remain unconvinced that a large hair ape magically migrated or evolved in the US without sign of it having been there. You have not provided any evidence that can be taken seriously or believed.

And now, onto the subject of what you are doing in this thread and have a habit of doing. I am going to deal solely with this thread at present:

MR, most of what you appear to be posting on this subject in this thread has been copying and pasting whole articles or massive parts of block text with very little input from yourself.

Your OP and the subsequent second post. The only input from you was less than a proper paragraph.

Post #8, the whole page, even down to the signature.

Post #14. The whole page again, even down to the picture and their reference at the bottom. Zero input from you whatsoever.

Post #18. The whole page again, you once again put in their referencing, with no input from you at all.

I would suggest you stop stealing people's work for one and breaking the law. You are lifting whole pages from this website and using it without permission, repeatedly. Please stop doing this. It is illegal for one and could get you in a lot of trouble, not to mention it could have repercussions on this site as well. And finally, you are not providing any of your own input with what you are quoting. The way to use articles or to quote from them is to quote a small amount from the article, reference what you are using and then break it down in your own words and provide discussion points. NOT stealing everything from the webpage and posting it without permission. Stop doing it. This isn't a suggestion. If you keep doing it, I will simply remove them from sight. It is lazy, not to mention illegal.

I was unaware posting online articles and crediting them and even linking back to them was suddenly the crime of the century. I've been doing it here since 2011 with no complaints. I guess you should tell Tiassa about this rule too since he does it quite often. You complained I was posting these articles instead of posting my own words. That is a lie. This whole thread contains words of my own when pertinent. I guess I'll start posting just the links from now on since you've suddenly decided quoting articles is a major crime. Will that float your boat?

You mean you missed the numerous occasions we asked you to cite your sources properly?

Tiassa does not copy and paste whole articles and on the few occasions people do, it is referenced properly and with input in their own words in those posts or they are copying from their own blogs or websites. What you are effectively doing and did with your OP as well as other posts in this thread is as though you right clicked, went select all, copy and then paste into the text window on this site and then at the bottom you link the website and hit post reply. In those particular posts, you didn't even write anything with your own words. You were copying and pasting whole articles with no input from yourself in those particular posts. The only input in those posts is a link with nothing else to clearly indicate that it is not your own work. This is actually against the law. You can actually get into a lot of trouble for this legally so stop being so pissy and sarcastic about it.

I linked the numerous times you did this in this thread, because it was getting worse in this thread and clearly stated when you were posting these whole articles (even down to their signature and their permissions and references at the bottom of the articles you were lifting from that site), you had no input in those posts whatsoever aside from pasting it. Even your OP was like this. Look dude, I'm actually trying to do you a favour here and stop you from getting into trouble with the law, especially if you do this sort of thing on other websites you may post on. If you are copying and pasting from an article, take a small amount from it and actually discuss it and stop lifting the whole article and pasting it and not using any of your words in those posts. That is lazy and illegal. That is all I am asking you to do. On the rare occasions you do feel the need to post the whole article (if it is a small article with only a few lines, for example), then you clearly and very clearly need to provide proper references instead of dumping the whole thing in a post with zero input in that post from you and just a link.

So again...will simply linking to these articles suffice for you? Just answer the question. I don't need another repetitious sermon on the evils of quoting articles online.

Linking what you are quoting, yes. Just don't copy and paste whole articles, because that can get you into a lot legal trouble. Especially in today's legal climate when it comes to intellectual property. And especially if you are also posting on other websites. While people here are not going to be vindictive (at least I hope not), but you never know as this is the internet and some could report you and then you could find yourself in hot water legally. As I said, no need to get pissy. This is for your benefit, not mine.

Like your OP, you could have quoted a few paragraphs and provided a link (a proper reference is even better, but at the very least, a link is fine if it is just a small portion of the article) and used your own words to describe the rest of the article and what you wanted to discuss. A rule of thumb is quote what is pertinent and discuss the rest in your own words and provide links and/or references for what you are quoting.

On the very rare occasions that you are quoting a whole article that is small or a few sentences long, for example, then you need to provide a full reference as well as a link.

If you are unsure of how to write a full reference, there are websites that do this automatically for you. All you need to do is paste the link and sometimes the author's name and they will write the full reference out for you (just make sure you have the post URL tab ticked so they also provide the link in the reference).

The point of this thread is to provide accounts of bigfoot encounters. In the interest of truth and accuracy, I fully quoted the sources given so there could be no mistake regarding it. If I had put it in my own words, the story would then come off as unreliable. So I guess I could always post a part of the article, and then link to the rest for readers to confirm it. Note this is an attempt at honesty and accuracy, NOT an attempt to steal or take credit for info that isn't mine. I want people to know these are real accounts given by real eyewitnesses and not something just made up.

I read a website about fair use and what is allowed with copyright material. The rules seem about the same as what you are suggesting. Criticism and commentary on the article is preferred, and excerpts are better than the whole thing. The general rule of thumb is are you creating something new with the quoted material? I didn't really do that here, and for that I apologize.

I still don't understand why you think Bigfoot is real?

No problem and thank you, I really appreciate it and I apologise for accusing you of theft. I understand now it was not intentional!

And definitely, quote the parts of the article and link for others to read the rest if they so choose. Just make sure it isn't taken out of context, which does catch a lot of people out, myself included sometimes. I do understand the desire to just put it all out there, but it is best to err on the side of caution. Intellectual property and copyright rules and laws are really becoming strict now and even the bigfoot site you linked had a blurb about how they were using the material on their home/front page and they were citing their sources and getting permissions for re-posting whole articles or blocks of text from the original owner or the people who own the articles. If you put it in your own words, link the article you are paraphrasing from. I tend to embed those links in my posts and change the colour of the text or underline it so that people can see it is a link there to help support my argument.. If you aren't comfortable with that, a good way is to just paste the link at the end of the paragraph where you are putting it into your own words (as one example).
