okay, so i was wondering if i should switch from an android to an apple, i like how open source and together android is with all my other android products, but all of my friends have apple products, so i most stuff i try to do with them are not compatible. so which one is better? Android or iOS?

The first thing I did when I got my first android based phone was to load it up with all sorts of free apps. Bad idea Long story short, Google's partners will make you sorry if you do that, because you'll be needing to leave your phone plugged in all the time, just to keep the battery charged. Every one of those free apps want data from you about where you shop, what you buy, who you call, who calls you, where you go, etc. Damned intrusive junk. When my first phone broke and I replaced it, no free app asking for access to data was installed. My battery life is now long enough to qualify my android phone as a portable device, but getting there required experience with two android smartphones. You should pass on the temptation to make your android phone into a Wifi hot spot with most service providers. It will cost you more than you think.

Except for the U2 album fiasco, I don't get anywhere near the hassle getting good battery life for my iPad, and Safari does a great job at keeping junk off your iPad in exactly the same way that something like Microsoft Internet Explorer on a laptop fails. As a bonus, you don't spend most of your mobile device time handling security issues the way you do with a Wintel laptop computer running Windows. An iPad would be a great way to break a senior citizen into the internet without getting into as much trouble. There's a lot to be said for such a facility. I don't keep anything on the cloud, but it's available, and it works well. Using the iPad with WiFi about town is super easy and works great.

Android vs. iOS can be a philosophical choice, or a pragmatic one. If all your friends use iOS and interacting with their devices is one of your priorities, then iOS looks like the way to go for you.

With Apple products, you're locked into the Apple ecosystem. They force a lot of choices on your device in lots of different ways. Android tends to leave you more choice. But a lot of people are happy to have devices that just work and do more or less what they want them to do, and they don't mind letting Apple make decisions for them. Google does that to some extent if you're on Android, of course, but it's not quite so oppressive.

I gave up on apple when my old Ipad started crashing and getting sluggish even with all the latest updates,,
its Apple companys sneaky way to force you to buy new one every year,,
Im amazed at the stupidity of apple sheeple buying new phones when they are not much better over previous one..
Im using Samsung galaxy tablet and it works just fine..
My gf has Surface pro w microsoft windows 10 and loves it..
My phone is Alcatel,,got it mostly for its camera, otherwise was perfectly happy with my old flip up Samsung,
,I prefer physical keyboard on a phone..
once the new Blackberry comes out will most likely get that,as it has Android and real keyboard..
Dont really care for these touchy screens on phones as its very vulnerable when dropped and hard to see in the sunlight,,but then most people are like monkeys and must have everything their neighbors do,,pathetic simpletons imo

I've had good luck with Android. Since it's an open architecture you are less tied to one company who in the future might do something you don't like with the direction of their OS.
