    Just beginning my research.
Thinking that this might be worth trying to avoid joint replacement surgery.
Has anyone here read much on the subject?
Any thoughts , both pro and con?

Intra-articular injection of mesenchymal stem cells looks promising - look that up. I really do they hope they find a proper treatment for this disease before I have to get a knee replacement for a knee I damaged years ago which is getting progressively worse.

'tain't for me, 'tis for my beloved spouse who has suddenly become invalid. We're still awaiting a diagnosis ---many test, no iron clad results---yet.
We do know that she has had knee problems(torn meniscus), and deteriorated cartilage in her right hip. However, the causal factor in her recent sudden onset of pain(above the right knee) remains a mystery. Getting old sux, however, the alternative is something we all wish to avoid as long as possible.
Meanwhile, keeping surgery as a last resort remains a goal.
    Thanx
