True, I think, but Dinosaur's facts and logic still stand.

part of the problems with these types of topics is that they are induced with anthropocentric thinking.

Could we be maturing in our thinking of the idea that there could be more advanced beings in this galaxy and beyond ? It seems so ; thank goodness. Finally .

We are growing as a thinking being .

    Good

There's still nothing to imply that alien spaceships have visited Earth.

And still nothing to imply that faster-than-light travel* is real, which alien spaceships would need to travel to Earth in the first place.

(*Which would be either warp drive, hyperspace, JUMP! engines, starbursting, etc. etc.)

I have to absolutely disagree with you here about the need for FTL travel. Among the possibilities using much slower vessels are:
    1. Generation ships.
    2. Hibernation
    3. Lifeforms with very long life spans(compared with humans)
    4. Robotic craft
    5. Embryos brought to maturation on arrival and raised by AIs.

Most likely. Von Neumann probes. I think people get hung up on thinking two way communication. I blame Star Trek.

Indeed. I would have said von Neumann probes, but I can never remember how to spell Neumann.

I don't blame StarTrek however; I blame people for failing to reflect adequately on what the word alien means - different, really different. You think apples and Ferraris are different! They are practically identical. Why else would they be red?

I certainly wont be trusting of any aliens that can't speak English.
