Has anyone found evidence of a picture of a foot, on Mars? Or a hand? I know the US space program drew a penis on Mars with rover tracks, but that was recent - we would be looking for something older. That would be more persuasive than a human type "face", because we see human faces in everything - the paneling on the closet door, the clouds in the sky. There's probably even a book or two on that topic - certainly a lot of magazine articles and the like: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3280816/What-photos-s-faces-suffer-facial-pareidolia.html
I have only read one of the books by Weinberg, but I will not bother to "critique for you, other than to say they are both recognised reputable Physicists and Authors. A far cry from you Eric Von-Daniken and the other nut Brandenburg that has seemingly convinced you of a nuclear war on Mars. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!

Saw something about a hamster on Mars. Looked at the photo. Pretty good. Read NASA explanation. Also pretty good. Came away with the impression no hamster on Mars. Currently reading "The Invention of Space and Time" Heavy going. Puts out all the reasons Space and Time do not exist except as concepts.

My Mistake. I have just finished Liam Callanan's novel 'The Cloud Atlas' set in Alaska in WW2. I read it by mistake, thinking it was the book of the film 'Cloud Atlas', it's not. The film 'Cloud Atlas' is based on David Mitchell's novel 'Cloud Atlas'. To check how easy it is to make this mistake, google The Cloud Atlas, This presents links for 'Cloud Atlas.' Totally ignoring the word THE. I did enjoy Callanan's 'The Cloud Atlas' and picked-up a bit more detail about the Japanese paper balloons which carried bombs across the Pacific to the US. Although it was my mistake, I don't regret it. I would like to see the confusion caused if they were to make a movie of Callanan's novel... The Clould Atlas. http://www.liamcallanan.com/cloudatlas/tca_balloons.htm
