Christian theologians have searched the Old Testament looking for any references to Jesus.
Surprise: They found plenty! For example...

In Exodus 33, Moses is talking to God and wants to see God's face, which Moses calls his "glory". We join the conversation at verse 18...

And he (Moses) said, "Please, shew me your glory and I will be good (etc.)."
God replied, "You can't see my face, for no one can see me, and live. Look, there is a place here and you will stand on a rock, then when my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft of the rock, and will cover you with my hand while I pass by and I will take away my hand, and you will see my backside, but my face will not be seen."

This "cleft" has a special meaning for Christians It's Jesus !
    Here is the "proof"

The phrase is "back parts" not what you wrote. Changing the word for comedic purposes does not amuse our Father.

Just because I happened to be bored I checked the link

I found on a brief read through it is the rock which is considered jesus not the cleft and the back seen nothing else

But what I found more interesting lord knows why was the seemingly reference to being exposed to radiation and not living

Sounds like mini atomic energy coming down

Further you cannot be exposed to such radiation and live

Further it's OK because once you are dead you can't die again THEN you can see god and be exposed to all the radiation you like

    Makes heaven sound real inviting

    Sitting around on clouds

    bring exposed to radiation

    singing gods praises

A bunch of hippies around a sun lamp for ever

IF the passage truly is referential to radiation exposure, I'd agree! Energy densities of ~10x e^160 ergs/cc (pre-universe), or even ~10 x e^60 ergs/cc (current), would indeed serve-up quite a jolt, IMO, of course! (Source: KSM posts elsewhere on Sciforums regarding calculations of pre-universe conditions and current conditions)

A cleft is a vertical crevice, not a Messiah.

Messianic Jews may agree with your interpretation. Orthodox or reform would not.

A 'Glory' is a meteorological technical term for a rainbow colored silhouette outline of something surrounding its shadow, resembling an aura or emanation.

i find some of the supposed sayings of jesus christ amusing like 'turn the other cheek.' i find it amusing, first of all, because anyone sane would realize that is a recipe for disaster and is sociopathic. sociopaths and psychopaths would love for others to turn the other cheek but not them. that's a perfect sadomasochistic relationship.

the other reason i find it amusing is i have rarely met professed christians practice or actually believe in hardly anything the scriptures say. why are they a christian then? some are even more amoral or unethical than non-christians. do they want to just give religion a bad name? naww.

i have dealt with them and they do sincerely believe in god but when you analyze how they operate and what they really believe in, you realize most believe in the 'natural' god which would fit/align with the gnostic version of the demiurge.

they are not forgiving or turn the other cheek (they might try to convince you though). they are not fools. they are just evil enough to try to get others to be sheep-like to make a safer world for them or worse, be their victims and put up with their sins. that's where the forgiveness angle comes in.

is the concept of forgiveness a big deal in your life? what kind of people rely on forgiveness so much? if you keep doing things to be forgiven for, evidently, you shouldn't be forgiven, right? isn't that indicative of corruption?

for instance, i don't expect to be forgiven for any wrongs i do. understandable petty mistakes and such are rather inconsequential but nothing big or truly harmful and if i do, i would expect to have to pay retribution for them. this is why good people try not to commit big wrongs in the first place!!! we don't look to be forgiven or expect it because we would know we don't really deserve it if we knowingly caused the damage. mistakes and conscious wrong-doing are two different things. only genuine mistakes are forgivable and even then, you may still need to make it right somehow or pay for it. seeking or expecting forgiveness is first and foremost, selfishly motivated and self-centered.

one of the worst travesties and deceit of fundamental religions is the focus on judgeing others harshly based on un-real sin such as a different religion, sexual orientation, different rituals etc and light or forgiving on real sins, particularly if you are a member of that religion, especially male, as fundamental religions have a lot in the scriptures that condone sexism and abuse based on heirarchy and different sex, tribe, creed, race, religion etc.

it lowers moral standards by equating everyone's standards to be the same. the all are sinners, so all are guilty is very popular idea. this angle is especially valued by the more lecherous sinners because it devalues others efforts at being more ethical while simultaneously gives credit and a pass to those who don't deserve it. it would be no different than if you were taking a class on a subject and you put in actual effort to do better and got an A- or B while another student just barely passed with a 'c' or even a 'd', yet the grades were equated to be the same because they are both 'grades' and neither of you are perfect. is that fair? NO. this is how religion is used to placate morally reprehensible people and their egos.
