If Space is Expanding?

This I have not heard of. Any references to alternate cosmological scale standard candles? It's only on such a scale that redshift is reliably tied to Hubble expansion. Otherwise 'peculiar motions' typically dominate.
To be honest, in hindsight I thought you had simply made a typo of sorts and intended 'rotational' to be 'recessional'. But your response here suggests original wording was 'correct'.

Yep. While not directly used to measure redshift, the Tully-Fisher relation is a rung on the cosmic distance ladder, used to calibrate larger distance measurements.
Seemed an easier standard candle to explain briefly, but valid criticism in the context of redshift.

i heard that candles do not burn in space.
so it doesnt matter who shifts it, Red or anyone else.. i still dont see how your going to get the candle burning.
..further more should it not be actively discouraged to be burning fossil fuel candles all over the palce in space ?
seems a little irresponsible even if they dont lite.

The people who discovered general relativity and quantum field theory and superstring theory/M-theory were clearly geniuses and very gifted individuals.

Unfortunately not everyone has a photographic memory and is very good at mathematics, like Albert Einstein or Paul Dirac were, for example.

What I'm saying is being good at mathematical physics is very difficult and requires many many years of practice for the person who is not a genius.

 

Let's compare your two statements:

A) Modern physics is a joke and has become a religion.

B) Mathematical physics is hard to master.

And you claim A and B are different ways of saying the same thing, do you?

If what you really meant by the earlier comment was that some theoretical cosmology and GUT theories are so far from making any observational predictions that they are almost beyond science, I would not disagree with that either. Some of this stuff seems to be impossible to confirm experimentally and thus to be (I would argue) in the realm of a sort of mathematical metaphysics, rather than real science.

But most of modern physics is not like that, of course.
