Is a bass nessasary to a band.

    Threads like this make me angry.

    The bass is as important/unimportant as any other instrument.

    If you think that anyone can play the bass well, then I dont think you know very much about music. AT ALL.

    Anyone can play ANY instrument badly, which is obvious, so I doubt you'd be stupid enough to say that

    If you want to automate the bass on a keyboard, why not, there is just as much arguement to do the same with a guitar/drums/vocals.

    Hell, why not play the CD and just have people dancing around on stage.

    In fact, why not just stay at home and listen to the CD...

    Well the bass is the easiest instrument to learn next to the drums that is.

    You don't play drums, do you? The only way drums are easy is if you have natural rhythm, or any sort of percussive background (i.e. piano lessons as a child).
