I never trusted chiropractic practice , since they always ask you sign a document that basicly says that you can not sue them if something goes wrong . ( and apparently , in Canada that is true for all forms of medicine , mainstream or alternative )

But I was forced to trust to trust them because I knew there was something wrong with my spine . My neck would lock , just for a few moments . My right leg would shake uncontrollably when I would strech . So I knew the only medical field that could help me , were chiropractic practitioners . It was and still is my only hope to correct my spine alignment .

So far my leg shakes far less then it did before and my neck locks a lot less

I take it at least some of your trust has been restored?

Chiropracty might be better than the the butchery done under that aegis many years ago, but I won't let a chiropractor get within arm's reach of me or anyone else I love.

But, I guess leeches are back for certain things, so why not those frauds as well?

A good PT can make you hate them while you recover from whatever injury or surgery, but their work is good.

In my experience, of course. I have a bit of that, having beat myself to hell in sports and hard work, and had many encounters with solid things that don't move when you fall on them...

Well mainstream medicine thinks no different from you .

But quite frankly they have no way to correct my spine abnormalities .

The same day I had an X-ray done . Right then and there I saw my problem . My neck was at right angles and my mid spine was curved , an S shape , my lower back was fine for the most part .

To add ; how many know that the nervous system is in the arteries and some veins . I didn't . Literally .

So here is the thing ; if the signal from the spinal cord cannot get to the artery , that is a problem , the artery will not pump blood to where it should . And here I thought that the heart was the pump of the blood circulation alone , I was wrong , ignorantly wrong .

To be honest I was waiting for some smart ass comment .

But otherwise I can drive , walk , think etc .

But in the future , if my neck and mid spine were not corrected now , more than likely I would be an cripple.

Thanks , I did miss your apology .

My right hand inexplicably swelled , and very painfull . I drive a standard car . When I went to the chiropacter he thought I might have a blood clot . But turned out that by adjusting my neck colour returned to my hand , not completely but it was a start . And my hand has gotten better over the last three weeks .

I have to say I am impressed so far with the results .

Not really, but thanks. I already stated my opinion of chiropracty. Some of it is anecdotal, but I trust what my mother said to me about chiropractors and revival-tent "preachers". I've seen enough to be pretty sure of my position.

It is so true, I was unconscious in a hospital and they wouldn't treat me cause I didn't sign a waiver, hence, I died.

    True story.

    :EDIT:

Also, last time I checked, chiropractic therapy was not regarded as a medical treatment.

The founder of chiropractic thought he would cure deafness by "adjusting" the person's neck. The "science" hasn't gotten any better since then.

Anecdote: My aunt was "treated" for six months for a back injury that didn't keep her from playing slow pitch. At her last visit the chiro "discovered" that she had broken her hip at some point in the past and needed to be treated for that. Another six months of weekly visits. Aunt Ruth wasn't the sharpest pencil in the box, but I'm fairly sure she would have noticed a broken hip.

S shaped? As in scoliosis? They can help that. (Doctors that is, not chiropractors.)

Almost a year ago, my wife had surgery for her scoliosis. Granted, it was very invasive. She was on the operating table for around 8 hours. But she gained 2.5 inches in height, and now walks without using a walker or cane. She even has feeling in her toes, which she hasn't had for decades. The pain in her legs has ceased.

Bottom line is, chiropractic is good, massage is good, I never had surgery but I assume it works usually.

Never tried acupuncture, but I tried acupressure and it was good. There are also 2 or more types of chiropractic so you cannot just critize it as a group as many chiropractic tools and techniques are completely different and like comparing apples and oranges to icecream and pizza.

I have personally tested chiropractic it worked, personally tested massage, and it saved my life, because I was either going to commit suicide from loneliness or literally pass out from the chronic fatigue of being overworked.

I have not tested surgery. However there is a new science I know about to cure back pain. If you want to know about this new tech send me a PM. I keep it secret because the guy who uses it doesn't want it mainstream since it will detract from his business.

Anything opinion that is not personally tested is speculation coming from a place of ignorance. Though, if you had a bad experience, consider that you may be the outlier.

There is specifically, a disclaimer that chiropractic may not work, so pointing out it may not work is futile.

Though, it does seem absurd that you cannot sue, as suing should always be done within reasonable needs and if the doctor only has not performed unreasonably.

Also, you should keep in mind that chiropractic often will cause pain, this is to be expected, since when bones are being realigned muscles will have to stretch and may feel strained or out of place, this is your muscles having to adjust to the new alignment.

It might not be for everyone, but it is worth the try. I was hesitant before but when I went to a Chiropractor, I was amazed with the results! My back is now better than before.

I visit my chiropractor at least once every month. Even when I'm 6 months pregnant, I still make sure to visit him. Just make sure that he already has a lot of experience. My chiropractor is in his late 50's or early 60's, but he's still really good. I train really hard since I do CrossFit. But still, it is a matter of personal opinion. My body can tell if something is misaligned and after I visit my chiro and get fixed, I feel extremely better. It may not be the same for others.
