In light of the FBI's having examined whether Trump is a Russian asset, do you think he is?

    At your peril.
Trump is falling apart, mentally - but that doesn't make him stupid.
He doesn't care what that means to others. It doesn't mean anything to him.
That's not necessarily a decision they can make.

anyone who attempts to convert others from universal reproductive health care and gender & sexual orientation equality is not someone i support.
i think such actions are cowardly~insidious and vitriolic~psychopathic with a leverage of materialistic~soullessness.

i don't care much for non religious discrimination because the zealots whom oppose equality are not in my opinion modern civilized theologically attuned citizens

while i comprehend and attempt to leave room for conversion of such ideologically brain washed people
i have no place for their discrimination of pandering to extremist divisive extortion of the common good will of humanity.

from the evolution of "nothing personal its just business"
    to "business is business"
    to
socially conscious & responsible business models...
    to
shove your religion up your personal profit margin & keep it out of my business !

    evolve or become extinct
expect those who refuse to adapt & refuse to evolve to thrash about and attempt to break that which they are jealous of & covet through miss placed lust & envy.

and so in like the death rattle of the republican party as it sits by attempting to get charity from the extremist right wing trend.

most Businesses expect charity for job creation yet refuse to allow charity for baby creation by women.
    they are immoral !

Well, when the POTUS is suspected of being an asset, there's going to be someone around him who is too.

    ???
    • What about having as an asset the POTUS is ever a bad thing for an adversarial nation's intelligence organizations?
    • A US civil war is just fine for Russia. It would even further destabilize NATO, boost Russia's prominence in the world, and allow Russia to forcibly retake the nations of the former USSR, which is Putin's idea of "Make Russia Great Again."

The fact that it's Donald Trump.
    Most obvious riddle ever.

There was a time when Trump was considering U.S, withdrawal from NATO. This certainly would have greatly helped Russia.

That all depends on what "Russia" wants. What Putin wants isn't even clear, and we know that Russian leaders are sometimes replaced abruptly. Whether there is a long-term agenda behind their helping Trump or whether it was just a casual monkey-wrench in American politics, I have no way of knowing.
But I'm guessing Putin is neither stupid nor crazy and would not deliberately keep someone with fast-unravelling cognitive and emotional functions in charge of a nuclear arsenal, the still operational bulk of which is pointed at his own country.

So... why hasn't Putin protested against Trump's presidency?

    Fact:
Putin would not tolerate an insane POTUS with all those Nukes pointed at Moscow.
    Fact:
Putin has tolerated an insane POTUS with all those nukes pointed at Moscow.
    Conclusion:
Something must be happening in the background to grant Putin confidence.
Either Trump is pretending to be nuttso and in the pocket of Putin or a shadow government is actually running the Nukes with Putin's knowledge.

. . . unless he had reasonable assurances that he had fairly good control over Trump. A situation in which Trump decimates US governance, while remaining fearful of Putin's power, is an ideal situation for Putin.

    1. Trump can't single-handedly launch America's nukes, there are military officers and other officials who have to cooperate with his orders in order to make it happen.
    2. If you've ever seen any pro-NATO propaganda coming from Russian state media in the last 10 years, do let us know.

There can be no assurance of control over narcissism, immaturity, temper tantrums, megalomania... and there is certainly no control over dementia.
There is no assurance of control over Trump. Ask all the advisors, lawyers and friends who have tried to keep him from making a public ass of himself and destroying America's assets. Or the secretary whose sole assignment is to collect and tape back together the official papers he keeps tearing up.
So what? He keeps firing them and forcing them to resign until he gets the yes-men he wants. Or he just keeps irritating other megalomaniacs until they lose their rags and fire the first salvo.

Narcissism - a clever manipulator can use that as a lever of control. "Your people will love you and praise you if you do X!"
Immaturity - same. "You are the best because you will help me, and all those other people are stupid because they won't. You don't want to be stupid, do you?"
Megalomania - same. "I will help you retain power, believe me. No one is better at propping up leaders than I am!"
Dementia - yes, that may progress. But Putin could not have predicted that; no one can.

They don't have the dirt to do so.

So does slowly undermining NATO, which has the advantage of flying under the radar. Putin would never do anything to instigate a nuclear war, because he doesn't have to. He can get everything he wants through methodical slow challenges to norms that never on their own seem to justify drastic confrontation (sound familiar?). He wouldn't ban rap music, even though he considers it a threat, he will just make life more and more difficult for those who don't conform, while indirectly sponsoring his own favored messengers.

By now, Putin has the next marionette warming up. He's simply not dumb enough to keep investing in an asset of diminishing value. He's already used Trump, whom nobody trusts anymore. He'll discard the liability, which might not even realize it's been abandoned.
