Ive never wished that ther was a God... but if Gods are real an i had a choice in which one to choose... at the very least i woud choose one that woudnt allow miserable pain.!!!

For sure me too about how God would need to be. I think of God being nonexistent like how I think Epicurus said can't possibly exist because of the terrible state of the world.

If a God intentionaly created this hot-mess for his children... i sure woudnt have a desire to sign up for his "live forever plan"

I think there isn't a plan like that available to sign up for. However, to avoid needing to deal with anxiety about the future or dealing with hardship in general, I wish for something like a small meteorite to instantly put me into eternal nonexistence.

Death isn't "bad" or "good". It's just inevitable. There is no heaven or God so when it occurs that's it. It might be something to delay for as long as possible but I wouldn't characterize it as "bad".

The net effect is the same.

If X is something you want to delay as long as possible, then categorizing X as 'a bad thing' works just fine.

Only the act of dying might be a bad thing. Right after it doesn't matter any more ......

Well, I think the idea behind it being "something to put put off as long as possible" is really more about ensuring one has accomplished enough in one's life before that threshold is crossed that can't be uncrossed.

Indeed but all evidence I've found suggests that deity doesn't exist so there's no one to give either a happy or torturous supernatural afterlife.

How else would we know God's image? How else would we know God has all the good and bad traits man does?

The more sophisticated philosophies often assign animal features to deities, as animals are often associated with specfic behaviors both benign and destructive and in the abstract all gods are representative of animal emotions and behaviors.
There is only one God which has all the good and all the evil characteristics of mankind. The OT god.

I find if you believe in life you can live forever happily.

Gradually the OT God evolved as civilization progressed, and literature played a role. It enabled more people more access to the latest theological thought, much describing God as being kinder and more compassionate than previously.

Tons of things worse than death, think about all the different pain types etc, death is welcome for many. The hangup is either leaving your family in the s£it by having to pay for your funeral to "I really hope God exists(from a lifetime Christian)".
