OK thanks let's see how it develops.

By the way I notice that caesium clocks already feature in "Mark Turner" 's oeuvre - another Theorist/Dylan/Amber etc preoccupation.......

I stumbled here (recent posts button). Please allow me to ask a fair question...hoping to receive a fair answer. Beforehand, understand I am just trying to, "understand the neighborhood" around here. Mostly to determine if I may fit in...science forums can be difficult...for some people.

The question. Is trolling a frequent concern here? Additionally, have any recent "new" members made it into the, "thumbs up, yer ok" club? Or is it very difficult and a long process (time wise)? Ok, more than one question but they are important to me. I thank you all sincerely for filling me in!

your average work place psychopath uses science forums to scam people.
Science forums also attract scammers thinking they can manipulate social inept nerds into giving them all their money also known as honey traps etc...
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honey_trapping
... how does group acceptance relate to scientific discussion ?

Not trolling per se, no. Few members here are only interested in getting a stir. IMO.

But there are a good helping of anti-science - or science-naive - posters who have found place where they won't get shut down for expressing whatever opinions take their fancy. That has a way of grating on the science-minded types' nerves, creating a lot of free-floating, guarded suspicion.

All that being said, you should not feel any hesitation asking sincere or apparently naive questions.

The trouble only begins when people have ideas and start posting them as assertions. "This is my theory...." etc.
