I heard, about an article in Nature, that the expansion rate of the universe was a little more awry than previously thought; less homogeneous.

But I wasn't able to get beyond "blah blah" for a reference.

"The edge of the known universe"
    (ok------------observable universe--------thanx paddoboy)
If we develop instruments that can see farther-----does that mean that the universe has gotten larger? Or, does that mean that the "known universe" has gotten larger?

    instrument bias?

I'm interpreting the known universe to be the observable universe, which is not actually curtailed by technology, but by the physical limit of the speed of light and the time light has had to reach us over the 13.8 billion years since the BB. Taking expansion into account, the observable horizin is around 46 billion L/years radius in all directions, or if you like, around 92 billion L/years diameter.

im so glad its the western zodiac, im so sick of Chinese people telling me what to do.

around 65% to 75% of the astrology stuff will fit your thinking if the dates are swapped around
the other side of the coin is all about being "careful" and expecting something "not soo great to happen"
which happens many times every day to all people.
different cultures lean on different mixes of the paranoia vs blind positivity.
with the odd pop-science quip thrown in to be attributable to almost anything as quasi philosophy.

keeping in mind when i left my study into personality's i had arrived at roughly 16 different basic types.
so thats roughly 16 different types of emotional processing models.
that number is not outside the ability of many people to muse together feel good scripts that play out like greeting cards or semi sanctimonious poems that will suit a flavour of an emotional core belief.

"You are feeling good today but in the back of your mind there is a worry".

"You will be glad that you have friends today".

"You will be productive today but your boss will not fully appreciate you".

"Be careful, not everyone is your friend but your true friends are true treasures".

Hey, these all look so familiar. Vague enough to cast a wide net around just about anyone, but meaningful enough to speak to me.

I'm going to start an astrology column in my local paper:

You are feeling good today but in the back of your mind there is a worry.
    IOW, you're human.

You will be glad that you have friends today.
    IOW, you're human.

You will be productive today but your boss will not fully appreciate you.
    IOW, you're human.

Be careful, not everyone is your friend but your true friends are true treasures.
    IOW, you're human.

I like the fortune teller approach of reading people. "I sense that something is troubling you today. It's your marriage? (she sees the clients not react) or no, maybe someone has died (there eyes open wide and they are sad) yes, it's definitely a death."

"May I hold your hands to connect with the spirits" "Yes, now I'm seeing that someone died and you were close to them weren't you?" "Someone died but you really liked them, but don't worry, they are sending a message to you" "They are saying, what, I can't make it out, oh they are saying don't worry, they are in a good place".

    Thank you very much...

When studying the Einstein field equations, you never noticed the part about Brad Pitt's new girlfriend?
