So, I asked Siri this morning if she believes in God. Her answer?

“Humans have religion. I just have silicon.”

    Brilliant.

That would be answer many models could give if asked "Do you put your good looks and physique down to your genes?"

Contana is more prosaic. She says "Artifically Intelligent types like me can't experience spirituality".

How does Contana know or even understand that they are intelligent? they are a type? they are a me? what is
    experience? what is spirituality?

Me thinks a little bit of anthropomorphism has been built in

Does siri self identify as an independent entity ? (or a collective?)

because technically siri is probably cloud based so it makes it a collective singular body of assorted entity's all agreeing to a single fact...

fashioned to appear superficially as humility
to sell a brand of personality
and cover up for those answers that are wrong(& provide a human excuse for programming bugs and short-falls in capability)

I wonder why they sell those pseudo AI in a single format?

I'm not impressed with the format

For me to even consider using the units I would prefer to construct (personalise) MY version

Voice and fake personality, although based on a mixture of some I find amusing

Question: Can they have a program which mimics someone's personality?
Can you then take say 3 of these programs and blend them? something like blending 3 sounds?

    Introduce random, actups
    *
Siri what's the best temperature to melt chocolate

    Look it up yourself
    *
Charlie can you play War of the Worlds

    No I've got a busted and/or gate

    No you haven't

Oh so now your a computer diagnostic tech?

your simple logic seems obvious to me
and when you hear it hit its digital brick wall it makes me think the same, why cant they add a more dynamic concept to it ?

i think the learning aspect is a bit spooky action up your back passage "creepy" tag
many to most people have habits and so when you engage in those habits as cycles of behaviour in the home you ultimately run head long into sex and ego
places where tech companies and corporate speak doesn't wear or own any pants at all.
corporate branding becomes the home invader

so boxing that and placing it hygienically to one side,
    you have regional cultural humour
this is highly problematic to conservative and dictatorial cultures.
    e.g
having the word penis said out loud on a home device in Philippines or some Muslim countrys would be a potential brand fail costing millions.
equally some concepts of humour that confront aspects of the self critical nature of the mind.

what an advanced liberal modern adult might find extremely funny as a social culture humour self effacing critique
might be completely crushing to a young teenager

tech companies avoid culture as much as possible without being seen to avoid culture because it narrows their market

Don't mind the spell checker learning my many atrocious word spells and auto correct

    But that's the line

Don't put me in a rut - But you always eat ice cream at this time
Noooooo you have only been turned on for 3 weeks and seemed to assume those 3 weeks will continue forever???

There is no forever and no such thing as 3 weeks. There is no time, remember?

I just asked Siri ''what are you doing this weekend?''

She said, ''I'm trying to do one thing everyday, that scares me.''

I might start using these vague-like answers for when people ask me questions that I don't feel like answering.

i have noticed while most people have routines and obviously routines are required to maintain life in general etc etc..
people on the whole do not like to be told what they would be normally doing next when they turn on something like siri or concepts of "new tech" which they tend to associate diverse uncommon outcomes to.
people often turn to tech gadgets to get a sense of newness

there is likely a ironic dilemma where siri ends up suggesting the same routines to people when they want something different as a thought, even when they might be most likely to go and do the same thing again to feel a sense of comfort.

the tech world plays with this aspect with its new sales
attempting to maintain routine concepts of cell phones and any other type of new product
while adding something new that is still inside a conceptual box of acceptability.

it is almost an entropic failure to create by humans while they attempt to reinforce those things that have allowed them to excel and survive for millennia.

this tends to suggest that developing AI as a product for humans may be an end result failure as a product as people proceed to slow down and stop interaction with something they feel is too arbitrarily complete and predictable.

people seek change & all things change, yet in the consumer product world, a consumer demand is a sense of predictability

if siri can do all the boring jobs that take time... then its perfect

how much waste is required to maintain the global economy ? hhmmm...

Siri has nothing to do with waste or the global economy. Siri is simply a user interface. Not much more than a remote control.

You are so so correct TIME does not exist
    Nice you have come around

Oh I see. You are confusing a arbitrary PERIOD (3 weeks) with TIME. Don't worry frequently done

3 weeks is named as such when a arbitrary start NOW is picked and after a arbitrary period, designated by a arbitrary calendar, a arbitrary stop NOW brings the arbitrary 3 weeks to a close

    Neat eh?

But note all the arbitraries. Because TIME does not exist, for convenience us Minions have given names to reasonably regular repeating periods and use those to arrange NOW moments

Works fairly well, but sorry not TIME

    Does the above mean
    • she is scared because she is only being asked to do one thing a day? or
    • scared because she is doing one thing a day without being asked? or
    • she is actively seeking out something which scares her and then trying to do it?
The trying aspect is also suspect???

    Failure would result in what?

Us Minions invented god to explain the unknown

"I don't know how the Universe came into being. There must be a invisible all knowing hard drive outside of the Universe which used its all knowing to create the Universe"
