    Believing in things "just in case" is a path to madness.

    there are a few members who study formal philosophical theory and if you are lucky you might encounter a linguistic specialist.

    the short generalized answer of your question is in the specific words you use.
    "Belief" vs stated position of perceived scientific fact.
    the 2 are mutually exclusive.
