There were but they have all mysteriously disappeared ...I could find some but so could you..look when researching stuff you can find stuff on both sides and most times from folk who really seem to know what they are talking about.
Me I look at it all and invariably find BS on both sides...I simply would like to be on the side (see if you can work out which side) that will not tolerate mistakes, exaggeration, lies or BS in general.
There is enough science to call upon BS can only damage things...as it has in this case if you goggle..just try it 11000 scientists and fake..what you will find is damage door to door...in necessary damage..and so you will huff and puff and say that it's not credible etc...but why give them anything that they can remotely call into question.
Smokey as hell in Sydney today...I think the same area in general as the 1994 fire..North West from here.
Have a great day. Check the list and try the Google and I look forward to your observations..try to be cold and neutral.

You keep saying this. What, exactly, is fake?
Excellent example. If 11,000 scientists signed a letter saying "we don't really think it's an emergency" I would have no issue with that. Their opinion.

I get it now..sorry...the fake is coming from opponents...Google and see what I am talking about.
Well maybe it's my legal days ... It's not the opinion it's the claim that the opinion is from ,in this case, scientists when it seems it is not from scientists...heck if you were in court the opposition would carve you up and serve you defeat is my point.

Maybe you don't get that and are focused on the fact they have it right so who cares about anything else ..well I do..why give the opponents such ammunition is my point.

I see the problem this way.

We have a problem with energy which must be addressed, it is made up of many things, as a lefty I don't like to see waste at the top end and the call then going out to the ordinary people that is their fault for buying the only products available while big money does not give a hoot.

Also rightly or wrongly I believe so much comes down to vested interests promoting fear and offering solutions that are, in my view, just as bad or worse than the problem we must deal with.

    Meaning NP...all other alternatives..where do I sign.

I don't think NP is the solution and it makes my stomach turn when I hear Greenies say NP is the answer...they have been manipulated from ban the bomb etc to an opposite position.

Miserable roll over thumb sucking fools.

And as an aside..you have to watch the released videos of the early bomb tests..let's see how much damage to a bus, a car a tooth brush gets at five or six different distances from the blast...watch them so I interesting.
Multiple levels of analysing destruction and yet so little on climate change...

It also pisses me off that so many see the solution as to stop coal mining when the real problem is unrealistic consumption.

Now take coal..it's main over use is to make cement and steel for buildings that little folk will only ever work in...look at the figures as to where coal is used..sure a lot goes to energy but so much to other stuff we could do without..in my view.

    Look it up...

My perfect world would see moderate energy consumption and energy coming from solar, wind, thermal and hydro in the main and coal saved for fertilizer etc...even explosives...and uranium save that for space travell way down the road cause in space that is all you will have...

I would not have racing etc. It's about big little boys outdoing the other..I don't give a rat's if you can come in a split second ahead of Freddy...get a life you narsistic fool.
Drag racing...wow we spent two hundred grand for an improvement of two hundreths of a second...it's just BS. We don't need to push technology we need to fit the planet ...it's is not made for us.
We are lucky to be here..let's see if we can beat the dinasours who occupied the place for one hundred and fifty thousand years...what are the chances...

I would have the US cut back military expenditure to only the same as everyone else's budget put together...the budget is untealistic...I think near a trillion goes to new weapon development...as if we need more weapons....just think of the energy saving there alone...I watch these videos on the gunships killing squirters in places OS. It's so nice to see bodies flying thru the air as they have not gone cold yet and still show up...watch them and think about what is happening...

One hell fire missile to take out one human..can't we be more efficient in killing an enemy...it's ridiculous...

And yet we are told getting rid of coal will fix it...what BS and for saying such Bells will call me a duck...I care more than most..I do...I hate to see the disorganisation that will allow the problem to grow...these folk at the top don't give a rat's..they are uneducated to boot...they are trained to say stuff is all.
Why should they care..the food is there the wine flows what ever they want is there...but what do the mob want today..sure..blah blah blah...
Keep them Think Ng the sky is falling..well it is..we need to organise and stop being victims.

The game has many players but they all rely on having the bleating mob cry climate change ...for why?

There is a level where it has nothing to do with saving the planet and it upsets me that the mob don't see that aspect.

Look what happens when I suggest the obvious that the first thing to do is be conservative in energy use..I am some sort of climate denier when in my view I have nailed the problem and rather than anyone say that I have a reasonably valid point I am attacked as if I was solely responsible for the mess you all are starting to realise that you are in...too left I guess.

I have the crazy notion that health care should be free, that education should be free that housing should be affordable and that employment should be a right not something akin to winning the lottery.. yes a dangerous thinking human..
How can we have free stuff when there is a war on terror...of course how silly of me.

I was not going to bother going thru that list but as I have a similar boring task today selecting one by one good or bad images thousands of them... I will for the fun of it go thru the list..maybe all of it a make a list of..well one I noticed..one person shown as an ..wait for it..an Ingineer.. yes can even spell their profession correctly...but worse of all none of you here have a clue what I am on about..I think that is what I find the most disappointing ..going from absolute respect to wondering if you guys have any ability to actually read or think.

OK I know you all are winding me up...and that is decent..you know I have pain and you all contribute in someway to take my mind away from that pain...I am grateful...and irrespective of the views expressed it is wonderful to chat with folk rather than be at a lonely top of a social pyramid in my real world.

But you may regret turning me onto the list... Ingineer...I have won right there. My game once was to destroy any opponent ...that what I did/do ...I don't think I have lost the ability...I can argue the Sun won't rise tomorrow and please the court..ok an exaggeration but that's the only time you will see me do that...
Again thanks..it is really nice that you all present such easy propositions to dismiss...
Next a thread asking ..what do you do to head off the hot future.

    What a breeze...
the list and the titles contributors listed..
now the claim is..11000 scientists...so if only one presents as not a scientist the case is proved..feel free to argue against that proposition as it really is a game as I think it is already clear the mob who threw this thing together were somewhat incompetent but if you want to jump in the sinking boat and bail please be my guest.
Still this is fun so don't get too worked up...the point is not to believe everything you read on the net...and to remember we don't need fools like these guys..you can go them or me that is your choice..
Now I don't know how long I can go but I can already tell the list will show that we have a few pretenders lining up...

Abel, Asad...manager ( no mention of scientist and I wont mention that again)
Adan chici, Lidia...Geologa..could be a geologist maybe
Aldimaz, Fatma....Accaunt and Finance Phd...mmm maybe but sus
Amarello, Melissa... Executive Director...not too proud of any academic qualifications apparently.
    Arnott, Chelsea...Planner
    Audic,Guillaume...engineer
    Aydurmus, Didem...Environmental Politics
    Aziz, Sheema...President
    Bacchetta, Carla...Investigator Adjunto ???
    Bansept Basept, Pauline...Plant Breeder
    Barlow, Craig...Engineer
Bauer, Manfred...Head of Customer Service Tyrol and Vorarlberg
    Bearzi, Maddalena...President
    Bearzi, Giovanni...President
    behaghel, Thibault...Research engineer
Belmaker, Amos...Collection and manager of birds
    Black, Scott...Executive Director
    …...AND....
    Blanchard, Alian...Ingineer
    Blaustein, Edgar...Economist
    Blockstein, David...Senior Advisor
    Brown, Christopher...CEO
    Buchanan, Mark...Author and Science writer
    Bulmer, M H...Director
    Bultheel, Clement...Green Finance Officer.

Now if that is not enough for you all to mull over I will go on to the rest of the list....

Now there are lots of folk saying they are scientists...but and one could expect this,...no note of credentials..and that seems odd..most folk if asked tend to state their degrees..just saying....

Now no doubt someone will winge or grizzle ...so go ahead..but if you think the list will stand reasonable scrutiny and not escape a claim that the list is not all scientists ..get ready to be disappointed.

Argue away I will enjoy destroying something so poorly put together..and lets face it ..if a mug like me can do it and I am on your side just think how a "denier" will rip it to pieces...get my point..yet????

To know our limits, in regards to fit the planet, we do indeed to push technology

Agree, nor any other species. None the less we are here

Yes and both of us have a Bali beer

    THE LIST

Seems there is even a dispute on how it was compiled

I am curious to see if the compilers fine tooth comb through and weed out the dubious

Very curious to see what they will do with the remaining names on list

    Will it be

X number of scientists warn re climate change
    (put heartfelt apology in here)

    Doubtful

Released in a new disguised format

    Possible

    Dropped altogether

    Possible but hazardous

    Interesting times

Side line - with Greta Thunberg pounding the seas at, age 16, proclaiming Earth has 10? YEARS left

What will she say on her 27th birthday?

I am presuming much of the change being called for will NOT occur

PS - some minor corrections I would like to make to the above post

Unfortunately here in Bali the edit feature is erratic in operation

10pm - visit nightclub moment - partake of a aid to sleep beverage

    Cheers

I've seen the list and I still cannot see any evidence that it is fake and you are yet to present anything to indicate that it is fake.
Yep. Poor you. You come to a science forum, make spurious claims about people and then you feel hard done by when you are called out about it.

The only people declaring it to be a lie or fake are climate change denialists and you. There is no evidence to suggest that they and you, are correct.

You started a thread by creating a strawman to attack people, declaring something to be a lie or fake.. When in reality it is not. I don't care how left you are or how to the right you may be. Your entire premise for this thread is based on something that is not true. And you accuse others of 'strawman'?

I'd laugh if this was not so ridiculous.

The PDF link may not open for you. The study I also linked had the link to the list..

The list was attached to the report.

The list was always attached to the report. You can find a link to it here: https://academic.oup.com/bioscience/advance-article/doi/10.1093/biosci/biz088/5610806

Which I had linked in a previous post to you.

Scroll down to the "Supplemental Material" and a link to the list is there. It's also listed under "Author Biographical" as a link (blue text "supplemental file S1).. If you cannot be bothered scrolling down, there are tabs on the left of the page (could be right for you?) that will take you right to those sections of the report.

It's a part of the report.

And you have yet to prove any of them are fake..

    My point still stands..

Why do they need to put their credentials on that list? Maybe they want to keep some aspects or details of it private, knowing it would be available to the general public online... And being the internet, and given how completely crazy climate change denialists are who would start googling people and finding out everything they can about them and they can easily obtain details most people would want to remain private for safety reasons and also to reduce the risk of reprisals...

It's the internet. There are psycho's out there who would do what you are doing for nefarious purposes.

Not to mention there are people like you out there who have no qualms in slandering these people as you have done.

All you'd have proven is that perhaps you need to find yourself a hobby and that perhaps you should stop stalking people online to find out who they are and what they do. Just saying.

OK. I took a look at your list, and took six names at random.

Melissa Amarello - herpetologist and co-founder/director of Advocates for Snake Preservation. Published at least 20 papers on snake biology, including:
"Potential environmental influences on variation in body size and sexual size dimorphism among Arizona populations of the western diamond-backed rattlesnake (Crotalus atrox.)"

Chelsea Arnott, formerly of the University of Hawaii, Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management. Four publications, including "Cost-benefit analysis of the horticulture trade in Hawaii" and "identifying and restricting the next miconia."

Carla Bacchetta - PhD from Brazil, specifically the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande. Five publications including "Toxicological Effects Induced by Silver Nanoparticles in Zebra Fish (Danio Rerio) and in the Bacteria Communities Living at Their Surface." I noticed you mocked her spelling of "adjunct" - but I would put money on her English being better than your Portuguese.

Amos Belmaker. Avian expert and PhD who studied at Cornell. 13 publications including "The environmental and genetic determinants of chick telomere length in tree swallows."

Alian Blanchard. Scientist at the University of Bordeaux. 189 publications. His specialty: "Our research efforts are dedicated to understanding the biology and pathogenesis of bacteria belonging to the class Mollicutes . . . In particular, we are interested in grapevine diseases such as Flavescence dorée that is spreading in Europe." (BTW he is French, so he may not be able to spell English as well as you can.)

Clement Bultheel - currently Commissariat General for Sustainable Development. 14 publications, including one on carbon costs. Abstract: "The recent proliferation of carbon pricing schemes and the increase in associated prices have led to a significant increase in carbon-related revenues . . In this report, written with the World Bank and AFD, with valuable support from Vivid Economics, I4CE explores the underlying factors for various choices over the use of carbon revenues around the world, to provide a practical guide for decision-makers who are implementing or reassessing their national carbon price."

You called these people fools. Have you done better research than the above five people? Contributed more to science?

Looks like you are guilty of not doing your research. Shame on you.

    Please refer to post 164.
    Post 164.
    To show they have them.
I am not slandering any of those people.
I say the list is dubious and post 164 shows why.
    Now that is slander.
But I won't be around for a while going bush hopefuly to pursue my hobby of astrophotography if the smoke caused by climate change clears.
Thanks again for your stimulating posts.
