Right, with maybe 2 minutes of effort you can go out on the web and find any number of people who will tell you that there is no evidence for the Exodus.

I use those guys in my presentations. And then I show people all of the evidence that is not supposed to exist.

It is an effective teaching moment. They really help me make some needed points.

I started looking before the Internet existed.
    You haven't shown any here.

I will assume you don’t exist until you prove to me that you do, I guess?

Specifically, what kind of evidence would be sufficient for you to accept the Exodus Account as history?

You did. You certainly didn't include me in your calculations before you ever heard of me, did you?

But now you have evidence that I exist - my posts.

    Wait!

You have evidence for the Cosmic Unicorn!

    Tell me more!

Nope. Righto. It has been pointed out to you repeatedly that the so-called "evidence" that you have posted here does NOT in any way indicate that the Exodus ever happened. Just as the existence of a mountain in Switzerland does NOT in any way indicate that On Her Majesty's Secret Service ever happened.

Not really, you could be another guy pretending to be you.

Or maybe the Flying Spaghetti Monster pretending to be you.

Do you have noodle like appendages, perchance?

    I presented quite a bit!

And I have more, if you are interested.

But you don’t seem to be interested for some reason.

    That is completely your choice.

And I have presented even the availability of Dr. Glen Fritz’s 20 years of research for your review.

What is wrong with Dr. Glen Fritz’s extensive work on the subject???

    Please tell me!

SSB is correct in his analogy to OHMSS; it's a fictional story that references real places. That doesn't make it any less fictional.

We're interested in science. There are some flaws in your logic.

You can reference his work here, but you can't just claim him as the authority and expect others to accept that. You are here presenting this argument, not him.

I agree with you on this point. And I did previously.

Please prove that the Exodus Account is fiction first.

Then we can go with SSB’s point. OK?

Until then, they do not correlate.

The Exodus Account is not a proven work of fiction like the movies cited certainly are. They are not equivalent.

That the Exodus Account is fiction, would have to be assumed a priory.

Prior to consideration of the evidence.

I trust you would not do that.

But then maybe you would because of an anti-supernatural bias?

    I don’t know?

Is that what you two are doing?

    Not accusing, just asking?

Because that would be both unethical, and unscientific.

Assuming people are lying, is not ethical!

    Naughty business that!

Hopefully you would not do this.

That would be like inverting the entire US criminal justice system on its head. Basically saying people are guilty (of lying) until proven innocent.

    Correct.

I never asked anyone to accept him as the authority.

I just asked that his work be considered.

    Nothing wrong with that.

    Why not consider his work?

He spent 20 years of his life on the problems involved!

    He is a scientist!

    He uses the scientific method!

I provided you with the science you claim to be interested in, and even asked for.

And I asked you to tell me what is wrong with his work.

And there are even more books, published by people with all sorts of degrees and qualifications, that "prove" -

    UFO's exist
    Bigfoot exists
    9/11 was an inside job
    the Earth is flat

But books do not make something true - even if they reinforce a strongly held and cherished belief.

    Yes!

They are also not all automatically wrong before you read or review them.

Are you starting down the assuming people are lying before they are proven to be lying road?

I would not advise that as a way to assess truth in the world.

It will probably fail for you.

    Are you married?

Oh that’s good, I was getting worried about that.

I did not vote for anyone last time, I was so unhappy with the choices we had.

    Skepticism?

Should we ever be skeptical of our own Skepticism?

    Reversing the onus I see.

That it is not fiction is the claim you are here making.
You have not met that burden.

By the same logic the Cosmic Unicorn is real unless you can prove otherwise.

Yes. That is the nature of rational thinking and scientific though - it questions itself.
