    A concept built on the passage of events, such as the movement of the hands on a clock. Would it be better to watch the passing of clouds?

    Hours, minutes and seconds are the Earth's revolutions around the Sun. That's changes in space, not time.

    You COULD watch the passing of clouds. But that is specific to the observer, since two people cannot be in the same place at the same time.

    They're based on Earth's movements, but they long ago stopped being tied to the Earth.
    The second is now based on the number of vibrations of a particular state of a particular atom - and extremely reliable time-keeper.

    Michael345, if you're not moving through time, why can you remember the past?

    Because , to your last statement ;

    Because the past is a physical experience .

    Time is non-existent . Time is a measurement of physical things movement(s) in both forms . Living, non-living .

    Time inandofitself , is because of physical forms fundamental truth to physical movement . Without any kind of physical movement , there is no time .

    So if I stop moving, time will cease to exist?

    Absolutely .

    No

    What I meant is this , if all physical movement in the Universe is stilled , at the same moment , time would disappear ; but the physical objects themselves would still exist .

    Actually, they wouldn't.
    You cannot magically just stop things from moving. If they were to reach Absolute Zero, they would blend into a Bose-Einstein Condensate.

    Full context ;

    Time disappears . Time is meaningless to the fundamental existence of anything physical in any form . Including any form of the Bose-Einstein Condensate . And their inherent movements .

    Time is measurement of movement consequence , by physical things .

    Time does not cause movement in anything physical .

    Well this is Free Thoughts, so you're allowed to say anything you want. No requirement for it to tie to reality.

    To your last statement ;

    But there is . The requirement is that is does understand reality . And it does .

    This isn't even an explicable sentence.

    It is difficult to take you seriously when you don't (or can't) write out a cogent thought.

    Extract

    Put another way, in the universe of photons (the extent of its measures) there is no 'then' or 'there', only 'here' and 'now', with no "elsewhere" or any "other" moment except the present one.

    My BOLD

    I would equate this with a universal NOW

    Note NOW upper case, not now lower case

    Yes. There is no such thing as a frame of reference for a photon. Axiomatically, photons move at the speed of light in all reference frames (that's one of the two postulates of relativity). Therefore, to have their own frame of reference (wherein they are stationary) is a contradiction in terms. The upshot of this is that photons do not experience time. This is Relativity 101.

    The fact that this is news to you is revealing. It has nothing to do with past present and future of anything with mass.

    That's happened here is that you've found a passage of text that has some trigger words for you, so you've quoted it, but you don't understand it or its applicability to your topic. Sorry about that.
