I never said anything excused failures in leadership because those supposed failures are just lies. Democrats desperate to blame Trump for anything and everything they can, with so much regularity that it has become a parody of itself.

Lol, Wow, you're as dumb as a bag of hammers. "he didn't actually say bleach" has to be the dumbest thing you've said today, but there's still time.

You obviously didn't read it because you still don't know the difference between an antiseptic and a disinfectant, just like the dummy Trump.

    Agreed

    Stunning really.

    Stunningly delusional perspective .

Do you not see through clear eyes what trump it doing ?

Do you understand trumps Attitude Towards the United States of America ? Can you not see the Authoritarian ways that are real ? By trump ?

Its okay to be wrong . It always important , in a democracy , to admit when you are wrong . And therefore , have the ability to change your mind .

You need to change your mind about trump , Vociferous . Seriously .

Then you should stop repeating the lies that he implied anything about bleach.

Aw, I guess you didn't learn anything from what you quoted yourself after all. Too bad.

Yes, river made a spelling error. And, river has said and made some fairly spectacularly nutty claims here, notwithstanding, yet he still has the capacity and the capability to see right through Trump's insanity, unlike you. That alone speaks volumes of your alleged capabilities.

New Zealand has just now removed restrictions and are now returning to a relatively carefree life style. You know, cafes, beaches etc with out the fear of rampant infections that you guys have to tolerate. Also their economy is firing along with the certainty necessary to achieve a sustainable result.
This is what good leadership can give a nation...something that is definitely lacking in Trumps administration.
Severe border restrictions remain in place especially for those who wish to travel from global hot spots, the USA being considered as such. In fact thanks to Trump, the USA is a world leader in leadership failure. Failure that you support, encourage..and deny.

Considering you didn't bother to support or argue your bare assertions at all, I'd say your inability to spell "capable" very likely does reflect on the veracity of your "truths". People often talk about "truths" when they have no facts.

Ahh, yes certainly...Your many foray into the religious threads promoting your mythical nonsense and at the same time denying the scientific fact, are some examples.
As illustrated also with your trumped up versions [see what I did there?

Went for a surf this morning, and while the water is still pretty cold, it was great to start seeing some normality return....And am booked into seeing the Roosters play next week at the SCG, at reduced ground capacity....

Creating Safe zones makes sense even if there is a hit to hospitality and tourism.
Western Australia, Tasmania are currently safe zones with strong border protections as you know.
By holding borders strong all states can eventually become safe zones. Even Victoria eventually...
Melbourne's level 4 lock down has just been extended for another 2 weeks beyond September 13 but if anti-restriction protests continue this may be extended even further as the new case load remains far to high mainly due to breaches of social distancing requirements. ( rebellion, complacency and restlessness.)

On an island, with a population of one of the smaller US states, but with twice the area (lower population density). So if you really think comparing NZ to the US is fair, that just goes to show your intellectual dishonesty.

I would actually put in some work on repairing the intellectually dishonesty, and morally corrupt extreme right wing Hitler like interpretations you fabricate in a forlorn attempt to give some semblance of respectability to whatever your leader Trump spews out.

We all hoped for a rapid and effective COVID-19 response. For the United States, that has not occurred. It is now host to more documented COVID-19 cases and deaths than any other country.

With about 4 per cent of the world's population, the US accounts for about 25 per cent of all cases and about 20 per cent of all deaths more than 169,000 deaths so far.

Yes, it's a large country, but that is about 500 deaths per million population, compared with Australia's about 12 per million.

Australia's state of Victoria is amid its second wave, recording 723 new cases and 13 deaths on July 30. The same day, the US recorded 68,585 new cases and 1,465 deaths.

I write this from my temporary base in Washington, DC.

I have experienced first hand, and since the outset of the pandemic, how deficiencies in the organisation of the US social, political and health-care systems have become more vivid and their consequences intensified.

Given its status as a world superpower, and its stratospheric per capita health care spend, the situation in the US is truly alarming.

Entire books will be written on this woeful epoch in US history. But I want to focus on some key observations of the country's failed COVID-19 response, and the lessons.

I wouldn't be too hard on him... after all the more time he spends posting nonsense here the less time he can post nonsense elsewhere...and if not for Vociferous there would be no one to head but with... lol

It's worth putting emphasis on this stat.
500 per million vs 12 per million
When you consider the vast wealth and resources of the USA the result of 500 per million is disgusting.
Leadership, leadership, leadership is all that it takes to make a big difference. Trump's incompetence combined with woeful state coordination has effectively cost the USA about 488 per million deaths.

    488 per million deaths!
It is such a shame that at a time of extreme crisis the best the USA could do and continue to do is generate these kinds of stats.
And now that the global economy is starting to realize the sheer scale of it all including an unprecedented economic melt down, competent leadership is even more necessary, which is again something the USA is seriously lacking.

Nothing you have posted suggests that I am wrong..

It's from overseas.. So someone developed symptoms after quarantine most likely. Given their transmission from unknown source is down to around 5% as of this writing, that's insanely good.

    It's well managed and controlled.

They have done better than most other places.

Certainly way waaaaaaayyy better than the US. The US isn't even able to do contact tracing adequately.

Your President's response has been repulsively lacking and at times downright dangerous.

Nothing to do with the States and their autonomy and everything to do with how Trump utterly failed in his duties..

You're comparing New Zealand to PNG, whose population is spread out and large portions of their population are basically isolated tribes?

Ironically enough, even PNG responded to COVID better than Trump did..

You're creating strawman arguments that kind of have nothing with what I had actually said. You seem to do this a lot.

And once again, I am comparing the response of those who lead the respective countries.

Your President is not only grossly incompetent, he also repeatedly showed just how clueless and dishonest he was.
