Contrary to mass media reports most of the country is peaceful. Most of the protests are not violent.
Lives always matter. I just can not accept that it is POTUS's job to cure a virus or to stop people from behaving foolishly. Do you really think Biden would have prevented covid-19? DJT could have set a better example but would everybody have followed his example? Some people want to ignore the ridicule DJT's first actions were met with and pretend they would have done a better job. That does not make sense to me. The truth is that a lot of people have recovered from a novel virus that no one in the USA knew how to treat. Why the infection rate in this country was so much higher than others is still a mater of speculation and conspiracy theories. Some states shut down and it did not halt the virus others fared better with fewer restrictions that is something that will eventually have to be studied. You can not protect people from their own actions; just does not work. Total isolation might stop the virus but it is not practical; people need food and medicine as well as various other products like toilet paper ect.

That means the Constitution calls on its leaders to take action to protect the welfare of the people of the United States. Mocking and disparaging mask use harms the people of the United States. Refusing to take action against a pandemic harms the people of the United States. Disbanding the pandemic response team harms the people of the United States. Willfully lying to them about the severity of the pandemic harms the people of the United States. Biden would have not disbanded the pandemic response team. He would have acted early and strongly on the advice of medical experts. And today there would be over a hundred thousand Americans alive today - Americans that are dead due to Trump's dishonesty, incapacity and neglect. His supporters would have. The democrats already have a history of following science over political agendas. And over a hundred thousand Americans would be alive today. Oh, there's not much doubt about that. An example is below. It does under Democrats. When Ebola made its appearance in the US the response was dramatic, science-based and immediate. Total death toll from Ebola:1 Imagine what would have happened had Trump been in charge, and disbanded the teams working on Ebola protection, mocked the people using PPE while working with Ebola and constantly claiming it was just like the flu. Agreed. If 95% of the people in the US simply wore masks, practiced better hygiene, maintained social distancing and worked with contact tracing programs, we could have shut down this virus nine months ago with no shutdowns.
Expanded the drone wars and restored them to CIA control so US. citizens can no longer find out about them, expanded certain terrorist operations in South America, riled up and heavily armed the police and various paramilitary forces (ICE, etc) on the southern border and in several US cities, encouraged and cooperated with the Chinese violence against Tibet and its Uighur population as well as Hong Kong and various areas in the nearby Sea, betrayed various US allies to the Syrian, Russian, Iranian, and Turkish military forces (with speculation as to motive ranging from blackmail by Russia to extortion by Turkey to bribery by Iran), screwed up with North Korea badly enough that South Korea is now compromising on its own with the latest murderous Kim simply to reduce the threat of nuclear or other military assault (the building wherein Trump bragged he had made peace with his friend the mass murdering Kim, originally designated a memorial to the peace, was later blown up by North Korean artillery), encouraged the Saudi war in Yemen (the current holder of place as "worst ongoing humanitarian tragedy on the planet"), boosted the US military budget on credit, abetted and encouraged the militarization of police forces throughout the US, reneged on the signed treaty with Iran that had halted their progress toward nuclear weaponry, failed to follow through on announced withdrawals and reductions of US military presence in various places including war zones in the Middle East, cooperated with the governments of Israel and Saudi Arabia and others in further oppressing the Palestinian subject population of Israel and refugee population elsewhere (a situation that has instigated war and terrorism in the past), and took various actions in Central Asia and Asia Minor - including Afghanistan - that have apparently led to an increase in tensions and military threat between Pakistan and India - both of them nuclear armed. And so forth. Rule of thumb: any peace obtained by fascist government is a desolation. Even if a fascist government wants peace, which is seldom, fascist are fuckups - it will screw up its peace. And a screwed up peace is a fight.
