The great Sean Connery gone at 90

    Made his mark in many a movie, but for me he will always be the iconic face of James Bond, master of dead-pan quips that worked so well they were imitated thereafter by tough guy actors like Schwarzenegger, Lundgren, van Damme, Norris, and naturally the successor 007s.
    He was of course so much more than that as a superb actor, but it's those little things I remember the most.

    One of my favourites, for entertainment value, was The Man Who Would Be King, with his good friend Michael Caine. It was directed by John Huston, who originally intended to make it with Spencer Tracy and Humphrey Bogart.
