What is the normal use of the word contiguous ? Other than Actual Touching .

I refer you to posts #12, #14, #16 and, specifically, #18. There is no "chemistry definition of the word "contiguous"".
You haven't provided ANY support for your claim, the supposed support (in response to JamesR's request that you do so) did not in fact do so - as I pointed out in post #20.
Since you can't provide any source that backs your claim will you now admit that you were being dishonest?

Have you looked up the chemical definition of contiguous ? Why ?

Anybody with any curiosity would look it up .

    There isn't one.
    But carry on lying.

They are implying actual physical contact

So you admit that there isn't a chemical definition of contiguous?
And no, they aren't "implying that" at all.

    • Please do not troll. If you cannot support a claim, you ought to retract it and apologise to your readers.

    Sure

They aren't because contiguous means Actual Contact . There not implying they mean literally , Actual Contact .

So you also admit that you lied when you claimed there was?
    No, they don't.
Given that contiguous can also mean in close proximity without actually touching, you'd have to show which particular definition they mean.

No . I looked at the article about contiguous double bonds . Post#19 .

What definition of contiguous is definded by proximity ? And then used in mainstream chemistry ?

Wait a minute: you agreed that there isn't a chemical definition of contiguous and then you claim that, despite MULTIPLE iterations of the claim that there is you weren't lying with that claim?
That article doesn't support your repeated claim.
There's a link in my post.
What makes you think that "mainstream chemistry" is using the word in any other sense than the usual?

It isn't . You just haven't figured it out yet .

Moderator note: river has been warned from trolling.

When asked directly to support his claim that the word "contiguous" has a special meaning in chemistry, he failed to provide any evidence in support.

Clearly, the entire "contiguous" discussion has been a time-waster, and that makes river a troll in this thread.

If you cannot support a claim, you should not make it. If, having over-reached when making a claim, you find that you cannot support it, you should retract it and apologise to your readers for your error.

Due to accumulated warning points, river will be away from the forum for a few days.

This is not the only stupid claim from river about chemistry recently. There was a similar one about the alleged special meaning of delta in chemistry. But that was in Write4U's microtubule blog, I think, so nobody cared.

Meaning of " contiguous in chemistry " . Do a search . You will find that I'm right .

Of course if you have done this already , then you know .

So you have not searched . Fine no problem . Some will some won't . I hope the majority will ; out of curiosity if nothing else .

And I'm sure that those that do the search will find that I'm not a liar . dywddyr . And exchemist . And JamesR . Which by now they all know .

You're an idiot - I've already told you that I searched. And there is no meaning of contiguous in chemistry other than the "ordinary" one.
And JamesR asked you to provide a source.
And yet you STILL can't give a link...
    Liar.
