The BBC did a SPECIAL regarding the world's perception of America last night and the results have shocked American's.

After taking calls from 11 countries, including a cross section of the English audience, it found that:

    a. The over all preception of the world's people is that the US is indeed arrogant.

    b. The US is a greater threat to world peace than North Korea or even Al Queda!

    c. That president Bush is viewed with disdain and that many people see him as a plain garden variety "STUPID" cowboy!

Note: The FOX NEWS NETWORK was also singled out for its warmongering MO leading up to America's invasion of Iraq and for being less than candid in their "FAIR & BALANCED" reporting.

Last night Bush had a hot dog and hamburger fest for his pals; that upper 5% of corporate America that took 95% of the recent TAX CUT, ( at $2,000. a plate--raising $2.5 million! BTW ) whereby he proceeded to explain to all that would listen that he came into the US presidency to SOLVE problems--not to CREATE them ( tsk tsk tsk ).

I suppose taking a $5 trillion surplus from that IMMORAL and HORRIBLE Wille Clinton that did naughty things in the oval room, and putting America in the red to the tune of over $3 trillion dollars in a short 30 months should speak for itself, huh folks?

I suppose spending so much time with Ariel Sharon in the oval office has not had much positive effect on the US economy ( or for the Palestinian's, huh? ) as compared to Willie and his "SWEET LIPS" intern, Monica Lewinsky, huh?

The 2004 reelection efforts of George W. Bush & Company is said to have the capacity of raising over $200 million for this gargantuan task of pulling the wool over the eyes of the American public yet one more time--what do you think--can he do it?

One thing for sure, the US SUPREME COURT will have a hell of a time reelecting this COWBOY character to yet another term.

    Abdulla....

Note: Let's hope that after Don Rumsfeld and Paul Wolfowitz finally confess ( with George Tenent holding a gun to their swollen heads! ) to their shennigans regarding the "TWISTING" of intelligence information put out by the CIA in order to pursuade the American people to side with Bush and authorizing him to go to war with Iraq, that our WHITEHOUSE TERRORIST will be put out to pasture and to work on his 2 book library, jajaja. ( For a man that hasn't read a good book [besides carrying a bible to church for all of 30 months of his presidency now] since college days, one has to wonder why a man that hates books would want to build a presidential library--don't you? ).

I don't trust the popularity polls that show bush still riding high around 70-75%.

He and his administration have deceived most of the moderates with their "compassionate conservatism" crap and not to mention every environment & union group is against him.

The only way bush will get re elected is if the Dem's can't find someone powerful enough that will publicly criticize that moron and then defend the critisim AND we don't have a rift in moderate/liberal voters onto a third party candidate like in the 2000 election.

Nader’s Green party has been considering backing the democrats for this election.

Either way it's going to be one hell of a crazy month come November.

Correction:That sentiment is almost everywhere...even here in the homeland.

Though nothing new, but what has been done to change that image? Administration after administration. Same old game. Same old mistakes. The same policy that failed in years past.

So what are the negative effects of being arrogant? I mean this goes beyond just how the US is perceived/stereotyped... it's probably the truth... the US is in some respects arrogant... but so what? Does anybody expect this perception to ever change? I could care less about a poll that says I'm arrogant... and that in itself is the very definition or arrogance I suppose, but I just don't see what the downside to this is?? I've traveled all over the world and what I've learned really matters most is face to face interaction... not polls and perceptions. People who rely on the media to understand Americans (or any nationality) and then label and entire nation as arrogant are ignorant to reality anyway.

Momma, Momma, as a family are we nasty people?

Abdulla: Putting this post in front of the eyes of some the SciForum people was like putting an opinion poll in Attila-The-Huns war camp: "Are we shedding too much of the infidel's blood?"

    Of course not!

You may not know this, but the opinions on the US "Arrogance Scale" also covered Africa, South America, the Middle East, the mid-continent, and West and East Europan countries.....

Some people consider ARROGANCE a virtue!

Abdulla: Well, things HAVE changed Billy boy.... you now have to wear a kevlar bullet proof vest when traveling to most parts of the world.*

*But in a way--you're right--people like American's--they just loath our government--like an increasing number of Americans do, I'm sorry to say.

    re: America's arrogance

We are. It's how we're raised, taught to think, how we're taught in school. We're taught that we are the best nation in the world, best economy, best economy, benevolent helpers with foreign aid...etc, etc...

When people are invited to phone in or make a vote it's only those who have an interest who make the effort. A poll on US arrogance will have the anti US brigade crawling out from under their stones from all over the place to voice their views. Meanwhile the overwhelming majority of people who don't think this is a major issue are far too busy doing something more interesting.

Abdu you forgot to mention the other part of the survey the American perspective of the world. I was watching the special last night on the CBC it was a piss. One of the pollers said Americans are "ignorant", 96% believe that everyone in the world outside the US wants to live in the US!!! Only 31% or so did. Americans are truly dumb founded as to why the world dosen't like them.

Really makes you want Clinton back, I haven't been able to find a person who dosen't like Billy. IQ of what 190+, and not a arse in the office, can watch T.V and eat a Pretzel at the same time. The man who decreased international tensions. Damned Truman with his two presidentcy rule, the US would have had another F.D.R

Evaluating Clinton & Bush's actions leads to one simple question:

What's worse: screwing an intern or the entire nation (and the world, might I add)?

Well we shouldn't have known about Clinton and Monica, that did not degrade his performance as a president. I bet it only made him better

One nation under---I mean, over weight!

Abdulla: Ever see a molecular scientist, cosmologist or research scientist being interviewed on TV?

His last name has 22 to 35 letters in it and it ain't SMITH! ( he's probably from India, Russia or China! ).

How many 9 year old can do 10 chin ups?

2 out of 75 in my sons school

How many kids can run a mile in under 10 minutes?
    1 in my sons school.

How many can woof down 9 corn dogs, 6 slices of pizza and 2 kilos of french ( excuse me--freedom ) fries and a gallon of coke?

    All OF THEM!

Yassir America, you're in deep doo-doo!

    Bush: Armageddon outta here!

    Abdulla: DAMNED!

I just had an apocalypse nightmare of a thought.....

Hey, this jerk carries America's Nuclear LAUNCH CODES!

As the leading cause of death for Texas inmates and having been promoted ( by the US Supreme Court ) to being the leading killer of civilians in Palestine, Afghanistan and now Iraq, I shudder at the thought of this man's ability to wreck NUCLEAR hell on HUMANITY based on his high CHRISTIAN principals.

Jesus Christ was the one who motivates him most-- remember?

    Abdulla....

PS: In a pinch I believe Clinton would have asked the Pentagon for more information before launching Armagedden.

Bush would launch Armageddon on humanity and then call his daddy and cry: "the devil made me do it!"
