How can you argue that human nature doesn't exist(outside of denying evolution)?
The issue, it seems to me, is whether or not something being human nature means it should be accepted or encouraged.

Humans are so incredibly adaptable. If we have any inherent "nature", it's that of not having an inherent "nature".

    Adaptablity, again. I completely agree.

In the struggle between good and evil, that is within humans, humanity has spread Westwards, and as it has gained freedom, it has abused it.

It is my opinion that it is somewhat human nature to try to 'climb to the top' with as much 'self-protection' as possible. But why do this?? Why do world leaders wish to gain as much knowledge and power as possible, without letting anyone who they 'have control over' have any come back?? If leaders are not going to abuse their power, then why not give the people who 'consent' (

) to having decisions made for them, some come back?? If those in power are not going to abuse their position, then what is wrong with showing some good faith themselves??!

    Lucy :

Not much chance of a divorce... she's a good woman. That aside though, I believe the main problem would be this little matter of a rather large ocean - you wouldn't happen to be a marathon swimmer by any chance? We could do the whole "Venus came from the Sea" bit...

Months later...fredx comes in with the space team to observe the wreckage.

He has seen that the merciless Dr. Lou has nuked the whole damn planet and has eradicated the disease.

Fredx is glad that he invited Hannah Arendt in the getaway ship because he wouldn't want to see such a good lady get harmed.

Perhaps "human nature" isn't the best description as it implies traits that are inescapable, but there are clearly psychological traits that humans have that are not based on logic. Thats what I meant by human nature.

I'll agree, but I'm not so sure how universal these 'traits' are.
I think our difference is really just in semantics.

    fredx:
What'sa matter, freddy boy, you can cower behind other posters when they insult me, you can harass me via private message, you can even start threads trying to slam me, but you can't reply to me when I call you out in public?
