It's weird how life really can suck for some , and be great for others, If I didnt have a pitbulls mind and determination i would have gone crazy by now, everytime I sole a problem I create 3 new ones.

I think Im going to dedicate my life to creating a device which helps you erase your old memories and implant new 'fake' ones.

if you created it I would be a front line protester. Your memories, good and bad shape who you are, what you know, how you act...all your experiences are a part of you and to take those out and put in new ones just cause yours suck would make you a whole new person and a rather fake one at that!

So far in my life the bad experiences outweigh the good, but I wouldnt change a single one of them because they make me who I am.....besides, its pretty good at the moment so maybe it will become more equal.

Many of us find there are nexus or cusps at certain points in life. You would not be the first to say that life sucked at an early age. But there is one thing that is certain, nothing ever stays the same. Not in life.

You may find the great job, the love of your life, and the best of social situtations the week after next. Or you may have a great thing going, open your eyes and find you are facedown in a mud puddle. At no point would it be unique or unusal.

Learn to take life for the things that happen around you every day. That is what life is made of. Not the great things, or the unusal trip, or the rare excitement that might happen once in a life or even every month. Life is the day to day, the mundane, and it is what you make it. No one can do that for you. If you are not happy then it is a sign you need to change your viewpoint. You are the only one that can determine that you are happy or not. You are the only one that can change that opinion of yourself...

Interesting you say that. Thats my story too. I think it has a little something with increased independance as the teenage years wear on.

After that, most people begin to settle down and become complacent with their surroundings like the way a child is dependant on his mother. The civilized type of person you always hear about -- the one who can't live without his computer or three nutritional meals a day. They grow old and live boring mechanical lives.

So the secret to happiness is proportional to independance (know who thought of that first?) To be at least partially independant from your surroundings and material possesions. Never having a 'home' where you're supposed to lurk for the rest of eternity.. just a place of residence.

    That's why your life sucks.

Aristotle said that the only things able to achieve this :complete independance: were beasts or Gods. You could always try

    Sound's like my mom.

If you're from the future like me, life in this era pretty much sucks.
The people are different so you never fit in.
The technology is pretty bad, so you just have to deal with it.
And as long I live here in the past, things'll never get any better for me.

    Yeah, life sucks big time.
I'd link you to my blog, but I don't really trust anyone here to read it

    Plus, it's not in English.
Let's just say that in 3 months I lost half my income, lot's of money and friend, it stayed like that for about a year and then in got worse when someone dumped me and I was left heartbroken. And it just keeps getting worse.
And anyone who might say that things can get better is wrong - the minute he knows where I live and checks my life for a while. The only flicker of light turned off last saturday.
In other words, life sucksorz. I am preaching this throught the net

    Re: Re: Life really sucks

Yes, I woudn't give up my memories for any costs. I would change some of my past deeds and decisions if possible, but never the memories.
But I agree that such a device could be a solution - for instance when you are the sole survivor of ethnic cleansing - with your entire family murdered before your eyes, your mother, wife, daughter being raped etc...

My life at present is interesting. Many good things in it, some bad ones. I am rather short of money right now, but it is only because I live and support my family from past savings. I am writing a book full time - it's a luxury.

sisay, you should consider yourself lucky for since you have so much problem to overcome, once you solve them, you will become a really wise man later in your life...without problems, we will be so bored

Is that so , as we speak I'm getting an stomache ulcer thats groing bigger and bigger each day due to the fact that I always have to stress, and always have to deal with problems and never getting time to relax. And you think that I'll become wiser later in life do ya.... hah I'll probably die at 23 due to an heartattack or something cause I'm never happy and relaxed

So you think that you have it bad? Just read about this:

It is estimated that one billion people in the world suffer from hunger and malnutrition. That's roughly 100 times as many as those who actually die from these causes each year.

About 24,000 people die every day from hunger or hunger-related causes. This is down from 35,000 ten years ago, and 41,000 twenty years ago. Three-fourths of the deaths are children under the age of five.

Famine and wars cause about 10% of hunger deaths, although these tend to be the ones you hear about most often. The majority of hunger deaths are caused by chronic malnutrition. Families facing extreme poverty are simply unable to get enough food to eat.

So when you are feeling sorry for yourself and your "problems" get you down just remember these people that can't even get food to eat.

that must be the most stupid thing ive heard in a long time, so you think other peoples misfortune is supposed to make me happy? You think I smile everytime I hear about a child dying due to malnutrishion, omg you must be a sadist or something, and by the way, using you logic that as long as there are worse things in the world Im fine , then shouldnt poor people like me be upset with the fact that there are richer and happier people than me?

My point was that you should see your problems as little things that piss you off for awhile while billions of other people have much more to really worry about, like starving to death. I really don't think that your problems are that severe, do you?

yes I understand your point, but that doesnt mean I agree with you fully,,, but another thing I understand is that whining here wont help, maybe I should write a book or something and make some money =)
