The end of the world has finally arrived for some tourists all over the world. In a recent move the dutch government wants to prohibit the sales of marihuana to non-dutch residents! Presumably this limitation must have been forced upon the dutch politicians by othere countries, because Dutch people like nothing better than to make a legitimate profit. It is also sad news for foreigners living in holland for many years. They are allowed to vote but not buy pot. link
Very stupid proposition, indeed. As long as the marihuana is available to locals, you can always ask some dutch friend to buy it for you...

....It's the voice from Bruxelles indeed, Europena "standardisation" but also we are somewhat more suspectible to it because currently a Christian Conservative party has a little majority in the parliament. They only got chosen because there was no better alternative available. The popular Pim Fortuyn that was going to win the elections was shot dead and people had enough of the parties that ruled the previous years. Even more funny: Coffeeshop Smokeys at the Rembrandtsplein refuses DUTCH customers because they rather have English people that spend too much money on relatively poor quality pot.. Don't go to smokeys or the other large coffeeshops near the obvious places (near the Central station etc, tourist traps) , always ask the locals where they buy their stuff.

Its been the end since the beginning, so another end wont seem so bad, but hey, they cant go through with this - Amsterdam is on my list of 'places to see':m:
