okay dsdsds... missed your point.... now onto that Taipei 101, geez.... looks sorta funny.... but nice to see anyway.... and about the s kycraper site... ah, incomplete..... not all illustrations are present, not to mention that the matrix alignment is messy....
Taipei 101 looks like a big penis will lots of pubic hair around it... but CN tower looks much worse Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
But it is just a big antenna. The CN tower houses a restaurant and observation decks. That is the difference. Wrong on, Taipei 101 is higher than the Petronas Twin Towers. Why is it hardly a building?
BTW, the glass is 2 1/24 inches thick. Jumping up and down on it is fun. Even more fun is waiting while a nervous girl gets on the glass, and then running and jumping on the glass. I made 3 people scream.
jerrek- I WOULD LOVE TO DO THAT!! That would be so much fun! Too bad I live way out west in Canada and it I probably won't be able to visit Toronto for a long time. Do the people that work in the tower actually let you do that? I wonder how long I could do that for until they kicked me out (or down)? When I go to Toronto I know what my first stop will be (and if I ever move there I think I can pretty much guarantee where my 'stomping grounds' will be)
The KTHI-TV tower is a bare metal tower supported by guy wires, with no occupied floors. This is the only one that is taller than the CN Tower, and it needs alot of help to achieve this status. The Amerada Hess Tower sits in water 1648 ft deep, and reaches a height of 108 ft above sea level. That's a total of 1756 ft tall, which is less than the CN Tower, which stands 1,815 ft., 5 inches tall. Even the Sears Tower is taller than the Petronas Towers, as long as you don't quibble about whether the spires on top count (of course they do). And the CN Tower is taller than both of them. As long as the spires on top don't need guy wires themselves, they count as far as I'm concerned. The CN Tower doesn't have "office space". But it does have a restaurant that turns a profit, a number of souvenir stores, arcades, plus several observation decks that people pay to see, and that's a functional set of businesses!
Jerrek...that's great. I know a few people who think like you do. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! I look forward to seeing that, if I ever do. I might just have to do that myself. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Very cool pictures! The glass floor gives you a thrill just looking at the pictures, let alone standing on it.
Another marvel of Canadian ingenuity! www.confederationbridge.com/bridge/morepics.aspx?pageid=71&lang=en Take a look at the ice crashing into the barriers. Ice shields they're called. Simply amazing! 12.9 km in length. For Americans, a little over 8 miles long.
Yeah? We'll take ya 553m and almost double it... Move over ya crazy Canooks, here comes the 1km high solar tower from Oz... http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5744,8580880%5E421,00.html Its just passed its feasability studies and will produce about 200 megawatts of electricity...
who cares if its a meter taller than one or two meters shorter than another. It's basically a freak'n tall antennae with a few rooms on top and an elevator. I visited there when I was a kid, it's a cool experience. The glass floor is definitely freaky.
