    All that you owe your mother in this situation is consistency. Do you always give her a full description of the women you flirt with, long before you know whether there's any chance of an actual relationship? Probably not, but if I'm wrong then you should continue to be the person you always have been and open up to her. Otherwise, when and if she becomes your actual girlfriend, then it will be appropriate to tell your mother more about the woman. If you're this close to your mother, then presumably she'll have a chance to meet the woman and draw her own conclusions.

    Regarding the age difference, judging from my own and my friends' experiences, ten years is just about the maximum delta that doesn't become a problem unto itself. There are plenty of happily married couples ten years apart.

    Still, one always has to wonder about the motivation of the older person. The younger one is easy to figure out. This woman is a portal to a whole new life. She has dreams and interests and ways of talking and moving that you've never had a chance to experience intimately before. But she's been a teenager and spent a lot of time with them. What is it she likes about you?

    You can't answer that question yet because you probably haven't talked with her enough to get so personal and introspective.

    Perhaps you are an exceptional 19-year-old. More mature, or more educated, or more gracious, or just in some you present a genuine attraction for a woman who finds you to be an equal in some important way. That's great.

    Or perhaps she's a very immature 29-year-old. She's still looking for a way to re-live her 20's and do it right, maybe trying to achieve something important that she missed the first time around. You might find that she's your emotional equal rather than vice versa. This is cool, nothing wrong with it. To bring someone a little happiness is one of life's most cherished accomplishments. But be forewarned that the long-term prospects are not good. I had the same experience when I was about seven years older than you are -- with a foreign woman no less -- and the relationship just self-destructed after a while. It turned out that I was on a more or less normal growing-up curve, whereas she just wanted to stay at that one point in her life for eternity.

    There's also the sex thing. Statistically, women reach their sexual peak in their early 30s. Judging from the huge sales of Viagra, apparently nowadays a lot of men that age are not "up" to it. A younger man can fill needs that need filling. This can also be fine and cool too -- as long as she's not so lusty that she has already exercised and/or will continue to exercise bad judgment with other men and bring home "souvenirs" you don't want.

    Or she could just be a one-percenter who honestly likes something that most people her age don't. When I was in my 30s I still loved rock and roll and went to a lot of rock concerts. Believe me, today that may not sound so strange but in the 1970s everybody else in their 30s swore that they never liked "that crap" and were studiously listening to jazz or symphonies or country. I would have been hitting on teenagers myself if I hadn't met the only other person of my age who still loved rock and roll and she was female. We've been married for 27 years and still go to rock concerts, by the way. Suicidal Tendencies, Filter, Joan Osborne.

    Anyway, if she's into something with all her heart and soul that her peers are not into, you could be her salvation. Nothing wrong with that.

    I know that I'm witnessing the beginnings of a stalker. But then that's just me. Oh guess what. I went back to the vegetable market this morning and the guy there said 'have a nice day'.     All joking aside, guys who actually have experience with women have a hell of a time figuring women out. From this post, and your previous posts, I'm going to make the educated guess that you don't have much experience besides holding hands, possibly kissing, and standard human conversation with people who happen to be female.

    Now, if this girl is in your cult as well then you probably do have a better understanding of her actions than us. However, if she is a girl who actually lives in our society... then she has no romantic interest in you.
