Dog whistles have an ultra high frequency range of 5800 HZ to 12400 HZ. Meanwhile T.V frequencies can range anywhere from 20 - 20000 HZ. I haven't tested myself but I know I can deffinetly hear the fequencies coming off of T.V's, lights, radios, computers, actually most electronic devices...
Because the amplitude of it is so low though, it seems like a seperate 'sense' to hearing and people report that they 'feel' the TV is on etc.
What does it sound like for all of you? mines sounds like a very high pitched eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! (only way i know how to describe this sound) and i hear it as soon as a tv, radio,etc. is turned on whether or not it is silent in the room or not for the first second it almost cuts of anyother sound i hear then slowly gets softer.
It sounds the same for me, but the pitch depends on the position relative to me. I hate the noise, I can't sleep easily when the television is on. It disturbs my mental concentration and doesn't allow R.E.M. sleep to be induced very well. That noise also comes from my monitor. No, that's impossible since the sounds war are completely cut off and devered from the sound emitters... You may imagine you can hear them due to reading their lips (if you aren't watching cartoons that is)
Yes, I can. I actually try to hear them. Then, I watch the show/movie again, and they said what I heard them say. Ahh, but you can hear them, not imaginary! I can hear what they say, even in cartoons, for if you listen closely enough, you can hear the signals to the T.V. and tune into them with your mind. */I do not lip read. I get the exact same thing. I concluded long ago that it's an ultra-high-pitched buzzing that comes from the TV when it's on. I remember walking into my house, and just being able to know that there's a TV on somewhere.
Whenever the t.v. is on along with a computer, lights,and other sorts I get very nervous and irritated and I end up turning something off.
Muting a Television doesn't necessarily remove sound completely from the TV, I had the misfortune of dealing with a Television that wasn't my own which you could raise the volume while muted and you'd be able to hear an increase in how loud the output was even though it was suppose to be muted. As you can guess taking mute off was advisable when it was extremely loud, in fact I think it was so that you'd know the TV was on especially for Blind people who still can watch/listen to a television even though they can't see it who wouldn't know the mute was on. As for irratation with Computers etc, Radiation (Frequency) is emitted from various sources which can interface with the way the human brain computes signals. Sometimes such signal disruption can cause different types of Epilepsy, although if your mentioning Irritated like Anger then you might suffer from one type thats sometimes caused by First Person Perspective games and the way they attempt to deal with Framerates when your moving about in the game. (Such as Hitman or Grand Theft)
A TV set emits a sound at 16kHz whenever it is turned on. It comes from the line transformer. On some sets it becomes more audible when the set is tuned to an empty channel (showing "snow"). This is because then the line oscillator is not locked to the transmitter frequency, but may be fluctuating, that makes it easier to discern. The normal range of the human ear is said to be 15-20,000 Hz, but that does not mean that you may not sense sounds outside that range, they will just be very attenuated. Humans cannot sense electromagnetic waves, like radio signals etc. If you could, it would not be the receiver you "heard", but the transmitter, since the signal coming from the transmitter is many orders of magnitude stronger than anything coming from a receiver.
