It was found on a ditchbank, flooding calcium rich water. Even the phylum would be nice no know. edit: It can be fungi... but thats not sure. Thank you.
Bit of confusion here. It was found on the side of a ditch flooding the calcium rich water? Or the water flooding the ditch was calcium rich? You seem pretty sure that this is a plant, fungus, mold, lichen, or something of the sort...why? Looks like an egg sac to me, although one cannot see inside of it to know for sure. If the ditch had been flooded for a while and then the water level dropped, revealing eggs that had been deposited in the water, one never knows what dehydration or air elements might have damaged them.
