I am going to have to take a college algebra and trig combination class next semester at a community college. I am afraid that we won't cover all the topics adequatly. I already know most of the college algebra stuff, but am I going to learn enough of the trig from a class like this. My major is physics.

Trig is usually a one semester high school course, including spherical trig. If they devote half of the college course to trig, it should be adequate.

Yeah, plus higher math courses will/should review the most important parts of trig (identities)

That makes me feel alot better. I knew that trig is not as deep as calculus, but I didn't really know how much too it there is.
So do you guys think that these math classes will be rigorous enough for a physics degree. I mean since I am taking them at a community college. I am going to take up to calculus 3 at this community college, then transfer to a university.

I might be wrong, but trigonometry is much easier and simpler than calculus or even algebra. Frankly, it's nothing more than six to ten formulas you learn by heart. The rest is just pure algebra.
