That's a terrible philosophy to have. That was the idea President Bush held
originally that has been so criticized. First of all, what is it exactly that
makes France and whatever other countries you may be refering to corrupt and bitter? If President Bush is smart, he'll build off of the wave Kerry offered
him by conceding and reach out not only to the American people, but also to
foreign world powers that we very much need as active supporters.

Before the whole business of the election is over, I would like to address why
it is that I have a problem with President Bush retaining the office. One of
the largest reasons people voted for Bush was because of moral reasons. By all means, it is good to have a moral leader, but what exactly is it that he stands for and John Kerry does not? No stem cell research? No abortion? My problem is that right wingers accuse Kerry of planning to restrict things such as people's health care while Bush explicitly restricts things such as gay and lesbian marriage. The health care plan of Kerry was not a restrictive policy. It was merely another choice you can have. You can use it if you want. The Kerry policies were all about choice, and that just seems to me like the general spirit of the United States. People can agree or disagree with gay marriage, or abortion, or stem cell research, or anything they want, but that is no reason to impose what you believe on others.

I think it is too bad that the election turned out as it did, but it is done. I
appreciate the comments from people who said Kerry is being gentlemanly by conceding. Whether people supported President Bush or not, he is once again our President, and we should give him as much support as we can. To those of you who said things like, "Thanks for conceding, now eat shit and die," I sincerely hope that the feeling of rebuilding catches on to you, as I believe that is where the country needs to be heading

So, I guess if I believed that it was ok to kill and steal from people, then nobody should impose what they believe on me right? Maybe I believe it is ok to run airplanes through buildings. Should I get that choice?

I apologize. When typing my reply I had omitted a portion of the whole thought process. There are certain moral standards that have been incorporated in the basic structure of the United States and other countries. Things such as killing people and stealing from people are things that are not tolerated. The general premise historically for what should be a standard has been based off of majority (and in some cases, military power). If the majority of the country decides that stem cell research is an atrocity, then we will forget all possibilities of whatever such research may yield and I guess I would be wrong. But as it stands, I do not believe many issues that are currently at hand are issues that should be mandated.

It does bring up the interesting question of, if a majority states something, who is to say they are wrong? If somehow a majority of the country decides that murder is acceptable, who is to say that it isn't? If the past had played out differently, and slavery was still acceptable, who would be there to say that it wasn't? Afterall, history is written by the victors and the majority.

Read the Dalfour report, France and Russia had back-door deals with Iraq that would be threaded by Saddam losing power. Their whole maverick stance in the UN, although apparently duping every liberal in America, was nothing more than petty geo-political posturing. This is why the UN was useless, and why America was right to abandon it, and why America is right to dismiss the charge made by overseas peoples and self-hating Americans that American unilateralism is wrong.

As for this the issue of 'morals' being the deciding factor, this does not surprise me. The left has been rebelling against the Anglo-protestant values that founded America for sometime and in this election mainstream America spoke out clearly to reject them. The gradual attack on moral values is an insidious force that Americans are waking up to. First we allow gay marriage, they we allow polygonal marriages, then we allow men to wed their pet monkeys. It never ends with these moral relativists.

We should just start 2 countries and see who is more prosperous.(Prosperous in all aspects, not just $$) We could have the Divided States of America East and West and put all of the Republicans on one side and democrats on another and all green party to canada. That would solve it huh?

The only consolation here is that close to 50% of voters seem to have a brain. This was not a landslide.

That would be a good idea. Except democrats are basically a bi-costal party, you'd have to find a way to sme how consolidate them all. The great big red is in the middle.

I think this rather shocking election result showed that Americans didn't vote Bush into office because of the War in Iraq, most ppl voted for Kerry on that, not the war on terror, but on morality. The most anti-intellectual campaign I have seen in a while, the US is pretty split and as a result I don't think the nation can heal and come together as one. The Blue states (the one's with autonomous brains) will begin to question what is wrong with middle America, and the Red states will seek their revenge on the blue states control on the media, and popular culture. Already in the US you are seeing ppl moving out of their colour coded states into one that they resemble more, it's self-imposed segregation. Many Americans are expected to come to Canada to escape the rath of GWB, and I find it extremely ironic that NYC, and NJ voted for Kerry by large numbers, yet were attacked on 9/11. While the people living in trailer park USA in Kentuck seems to know better then those in NYC how to deal with terrorism. Ppl who probably never even seen a muslim, let alone a tower. This election is based on the ignorance of the many usurping the logic of the few. I do not consider this a good victory for Bush because it did not really justify his policies just that being a evangelical christian works. Now that the US is surely on her terminal decline, I only wonder how long will it take for that social/communal disaster will happen. It's a sad day for America...let alone the world.

I would actually bet there were two main reasons for Kerry's defeat.

#1. The Osama video. People are afraid of Osama.

#2. Nationalized Health Care. People are afraid of taxes.

No that is not true, the ppl in the US at least a quarter voted on values. There was almost nothing Kerry could do.

    Way to burst my bubble.

Anyway, I still think that fear of taxes had a LOT to do with it. And the Osama video also played a part. It is inconceivable that these things didn't influence the vote in a significant way.

And, speaking of values, what a joke. Bush is a moralist's nightmare and yet all these people who are so 'into' values just lap up his facade because it's what they want to believe. Bush moral? Ha!

VICTORY 2004: PRESIDENT'S ACCEPTANCE SPEECH INVITING THE 55 MILLION AMERICA-HATERS WHO VOTED AGAINST GOD TO BEND OVER AND TAKE IT LIKE A PRISON BITCH
Remarks by the President in Acceptance Speech
    The Ronald Reagan Building
    Washington, D.C.

THE PRESIDENT: Thank you all. Thank you all for coming. We had a long night – and a great night. (Applause.) And now, just hours later, here I am already addressing a beautiful crowd of paranoid, fist-pumping, soon-to-be tax-exempt gazillionaires. (Applause.) Yes, as I look around I see that there are finally no self-loathing Negroes in front or behind me, which can only mean one thing: the election is OVER! (Applause.)

Earlier today, Senator Kerry called me to admit that he is a pansy-assed loser. He was very gracious. And so was I. Hell, I even held my hand over the receiver so he couldn't hear me cracking up over all the fruity liberal garbage he was spouting about "healing" and "uniting" the people. (Laughter.)

    Oh – I didn't say that, did I?

Because... umm... I don't want to be a divider, I want to be a divider. Wait. Damn. I done pooped that up, too. Take two, dudes. I don't want to be a pussy uniter. I want to be a divider. (Applause.) Good Lord Almighty it feels so dang good to finally be able to say that in public. I ain't running again, so I don't have to say anymore of that bullcrap I used to spout to get elected – like, "Jeb, tear up them nigra ballots, boy!" I kid. No, seriously, the only type of uniting I'm going to be doing is when Democrats curl their Jockeys to their ankles and bend on over! YEE-HAW!
