welcome to Sciforums, you will find there's a few of us Brit's kicking around in here and occasionally shaken by a discussion.

Feel free to find a conversation to add you thoughts too, or create one of your own as we are raring to answer/chat/talk/listen/complain.

As for MLP's (My Little Ponies) My sister use to have a few many years ago, but I think the dog might of chewed them like it swallowed a Strawberry Shortcake doll. An absolutely useless piece of drivel to everyone else, but it might send chills to your bones if your collecting them.

    My little ponies...

They used to be a collectable childrens toy, aimed at a female target group. They were hugely popular in the UK. Think of a sort of equine barbie.

So we have a collector on board!

Maybe we should ask if anyone else collects anything of interest.

I now collect ....... nothing really. Isn't it funny how you go through a stage of collecting something and then lose all interest?
    What's that all about?

I'm sitting here looking around my room wondering whether I ever had a passion for collecting anything for any great length of time but can't think of anything.

Sorry folks, it's 3.43am and I'm starting to ramble. Can't sleep.

    See ya
    Teri

My Little ponies were available between 1982 & 1993. They are about 6 inches tall (the adults) & come in all different colours. They had a picture on there bum.

Actually my father found a full bag of them in his storage room, left behind by previous owners probably, along with small plastic trolls. They look good together on my pink kitchen shelf.

    Green starbow,

The little ponies sound cute, and it is possible they may have been around during those years here in Oz; but those years were in the middle of my partying years, so the only things I used to collect was wine glasses.... oh, the things alcohol makes you do!

Speaking of alcohol and the brain cells deleted by its consumption, I just remembered that I also collected match books (the little boxes of matches to light my cigarettes) from various drinking establishments. I still have many of them. Maybe I should go have a look at some of them to see where I had been!

    Luv
    Teri

Teri2 reminds me of collecting. Many years ago when I was but a lad of 9, I started a stamp collection with a huge collection album. I was faithful in collecting and filing those stamps for quite some time. In 1957 there is a note on one of the pages that there were over 20,000 stamps. Then, one day the urge to collect those stamps faded. But I never got rid of the album. I still have it. There is no telling what it is worth today. Honestly, I have no idea. I do know that there are true rarities in it. A misprint, with the corrected issue, and newspaper clipping. A letter mailed through the western days of the pony express, written with a quill pen, wax seal on the back, the style of writing of the time reflected in the script with a double ss, made is if they were f’s. Complete with a hundred year + postmark. When was the last time you bought a 1 ½ ¢ air mail stamp? Or have you ever seen the stamps used when paper shortages were the norm during the world wars? They are made of tissue paper. I have a complete commemorative set of them. I have stamps from countries that no longer exist today. Who would have thought that would be the case then? Even odd ball things like easter seals and boy scout jamborees, cigarette tax stamps that were once part of the package and not part of the wrapper. Furniture tax stamps and first day of issues and on and on. Thank you for reminding me Teri2. One day I shall pull it back out and remember again my childhood.

Wow, that´s a goldmine you have there, Wet1!
Must be worth a LOT! Comforting to know if you ever need money. But I guess the affectionate worth is larger still.
