Ah. True. But, this is understandable. Fat is flammable. What better way to show the power of sacrifice than this self-sustained burning. I believe that sometimes the fat was rendered into oil for temple lamps and such as well. So, sacrificing fat was functional.
So? Heart tastes good, liver is tolerable, do not know about lungs... And yes, the animal was eaten for the most part, but the slaughter was ceremonial. It should also show that the clan is prosperous and that the gods favor it.
I have to play it (over and over and over and over)^20 in band class for the Christmas concert that we will be playing for the local elementary schools. Guess what I think about it.
one and a half words: ha-ha but yiea, they are getting into it way early, i went to the shops in late october, and the christmas stuff was right next to the halloween stuff
Which of those words was a half word? I don't mind so much the commercialism, as the belief of the companies that they should tell us to start celebrating in October.
you know, for some reason every year I look out for the first commercial sign of Christmas and mark it on my calendar... god knows why... but i do. This year that day was the 24th of August, in that the supermarket was full of Christmas puddings and biscuits and chocolates. In fact, a month before Christmas I am quite happy with because 4 weeks isn't really that long to shop for everything you need, but the 24th of August?! Tell me that isn't ridiculous!
Mmh, as far as I remember, I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt when I saw the first christmas stuff this year. But the decoration only cmae up in November.
Well, yesterday I heard one of those Christmas songs done by the voice of.... The Smashing Pumpkins!!!!! Gods, why? I don't know if that should make me happy or sad.
I dig xmas. Basically, I just buy random shit for myself and eat alot. I do it year round but only during xmas season is it celebrated.
vslayer, nice to see some Christmas spirit! No list for me either, I just drop a couple of subtle hints (or not so subtle).
