The question should be why do you want to learn?

There are lots of books on the subject and a million and one web sites that reckon they can teach you the skills, if you wish to learn so that you can defend against it simply rephrase your question.

My advice is track down a copy of 'A Complete Hackers Handbook' By Dr-K, ISBN 1-85868-943-0. It should explain the basics of computer insecurities and is a good general read for anyone interested in the history of the subject.

Go on hacking forums. Talk to someone that knows how to hack. Learn scripts. Learn coding. Learn tricks. Learn how pre-made hacking programs work.

I've done hacking and I think it is a waste of time. I know many languages, codes and methods. It takes years to become good. It's a waste of energy. Learn the guitar or something.

Given the manner and the way in which you asked the question I'm going to take an educated guess and say that you couldn't code your way out of a wet paper bag.

Now that we've established that you probably know next to nothing about the intricacies of the computing way of life, we can extrapolate that you wouldn't have the slightest idea of what to do if you accidentally gained root access to a unix box, which (let's face it) is the desired end result of most "hacks".

That, however stupid you may indeed be, should not deter you from becoming a script kiddie. Should you wish to access or change information that does not belong to you through the electronic medium you will simply need know how to find the tools to achieve that goal. In this search I shall help you.

With that purpose in mind I have decided to part with this nugget of infinite wisdom.

http://www.google.com , I suggest you begin with searching for known "hacking" phrases like "l33t", "k-rad", and "Gibson".

As you can guess the stance on "Hacking threads" to this forum is that they are a waste of time. People will not teach you how to hack, hackers become hackers because they learn by themselves to do what ever it is they do and with that comes either the great responsibility or irresponsibility of what they do with what they learn.

Studying computer security related matters is generally what people have to do if they are involved in networking or consultancy, so if you want to learn what it's really all about do a course at your local college/university (or if you're still in school knuckle down and work hard to get the grades you'll need to learn more)

Other than that, this thread has run its course.
