    Hi everyone

    I am really stumped about this problem with IE. What happens is that every redirected page displays an Action Canceled error. There has been no real signifigant changes to the OS. I tried istalling SP1 and all the critical updates but this still dont help I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling IE in hopes that it will fix it but I still have the same problem. Also some elements wiht in frames will not display on certain sites. A good site example I have this problem with is excite.com when my wife checks her email. Where certain logos should be displayed or images there will be a red x I right click to try to show the image and it still wont display it. The only change made to the registry was to disable the new https behavior. It just makes it easier browsing certain sites as I can use the xxxxxx@xxxx.com syntax. Any thought on this or if you know how to fix this please let me know I would greatly appreciate it and thanks in advance for your time and patience.

    tools >> internet options >> advanced >> restore defaults

    see if that helps. also be sure you have 6.0

    it might also be a fire wall problem if you have fiddled around with that. try restoring your registry too and see if that helps.

    and if all else fails, just throw IE away as it is a piece of crap only good for checking hotmail.

    I tried foxfire I did like it but however I like IE for the simple reason I save a lot of image files and that little floating toolbar comes in handy for this. That is the only reason I went back to IE. If I can't figure it out I will change to foxfire. Thank you both for your input as it is well appreciated. I will try your suggestion SouthStar first.

    Even though you have move to the wonderful firefox the problem with Internet explorer could be caused by two problems,

    the first is spyware/browser hijacker.. this software can modify webpage locations such as homepages and redirections resulting in more spyware being downloaded and general anoyance. Get hold of CWShredder to check for browser hijack. The other solution could be a entry in the lmhosts file or hosts file on your system. Some spyware can add entries to these file resulting in redirection. This works as follows
    www.google.com = www.com
    the system detects that you typed www.google.com and redirects you to www.com. To check for this do a search for the files lmhosts and hosts and check for dodgy entries..

    Hope this help
