It's going to win awards. Let put it that way. What an ending to the first series! I can't remember the last time a SciFi show had me on the edge of my seat! The special effects alone make it worth the watch and those guys, man, do they deserve what they get. And what a cliffhanger, how could they let it end like that. I thought the ending of Galactica was bad, but this...someone please put me into cryogenic sleep until the next series starts!

    --Highlight to read--

Almost everything about that episode was amazing. The railguns and .50cals that came from Earth, utterly amazing. That first wave of Darts has to go down as the best SciFi battle scene of all time. In my mind it beats the Death Star trench, the last stand of the Colonial Marines in Aliens, the Dominion vs Star Fleet battle in DS9...nothing at the moment can touch it. I was gobsmacked.

The new Colonel seemed a bit goofy to me. I guess it was his voice and the way he spoke. Seemed realy weird. But I think I can see what's going to happen in the next episode. The colonel is going to see what a Wraith does to a man and he's going to forgive Shephard. That's predictable enough. Same as the Daedalus coming on time. But what I do not know is how John is going to survive his suicide mission. The only forseeable way I can imagine is if he lands on a hanger deck and steals a Dart.

What's got me thinking is what happened to Taylor. Obviously there was a battle, her team incapacitated. But her missing. Grud on a greenie I wander what the writers will make of that. Will they play on her Wraith gene or will she be kicking the shit outta a wraith mano-o-mano? Who knows!

Once again. I'm flabbergasted. I was sitting there during the credits thinking "This better live up to expectations". It grabbed my expectations and flung it into the air and shot it right out of the sky. Amazing.

In fact, I'm going to write and e-mail of congratulations to the makers (or person near enough). They deserve credit.

Okay, I'm done. Please, if you've seen it, write spoilers in white. As far as I'm aware, it's only been aired in Canada. I saw it via a download.

I have to agree ... that is the best cliffhanger episode of any Sci-Fi series I've ever seen. That was intense, the way it ended will keep me guessing for what may seem like ages.

***Spoilers*** (highlight section below to view)
I'm more interested in seeing what the Daedalus will look like ... I wonder if it will have the same design as the Prometheus. Even more puzzling is the kind of weapons platform that is installed on the Daedalus. Those Wriath ships aren't kittens .... it will be very interesting to see how Earth's new battlecrusier will fair against two Hive ships.

As for Tayla, my guess is that either she was captured by the Wriath or she went the a Puddle Jumper to save Shephard as he's about to detonate the bomb. I dunno, my guess is as good as anyone elses but I'm leaning towards her being captured. Shephard's situation is also a mind boggler ... I would like to think that a small Asgaurd ship would come to save him without being detected ... but that would seem unrealistic. I really don't know how he will get himself out of this (maybe the bomb is a dud and won't detonate)

As for the effects, those rail guns and new ammunition looks very nice in the main battle scene and the subsequent fight scene prior to the end. Simply amazing.

The way this season ended will keep me at the edge of my seat for a very long time. I dunno if I can continue with my courses with this on my mind

The thing that got me about the Daedalus was that McKay said it was Prometheus' sister ship. This may be an indication that it will look alot like the Prometheus but that's only speculation.

Oooo, I never considered the possibility of Taylor going to help John. It would seem more likely character wise. As for the Asguard ship. Again, possible and that itself would lead to a lot of possibilities in the next series if true.

***SPOILERS FOR ATLANTIS AND SG1 8x17***

Now we obviously aren't seeing the shows in the correct timeline as SG1 is dragging behind and they haven't even recieved the transmission from Atlantis yet as far as the viewers are concerned. What I'd really like to know is how the hell the plan to write themselves out of the Daniel Jackson situation at the end of SG1 8x17, He must have accended but will he return to human form?

As for John, the Daedalus probably won't be there in time to save him the trouble of blowing himself up so something else is bound to happen. He'll have to land onboard first and he'll probably go out to galantly explore the ship after setting a timer on the device, I can see Tayla somehow helping him here by taking over a wraith like they've taken her over before. The "stealing a dart" hypothesis sounds likely but they'll still have ship no. 2 to deal with after he escapes (which he'll undoubtedly do somehow). Tayla might use her powers to activate a self destruct (big ships always have those, there must be some sort of universal law), or McKay might have worked out how to remote control the second jumper by then.

In either case there will be an explosion where they think that John has died for 10 minutes of screentime untill he miraculously returns somehow.

I'm guessing this storyline won't be resolved untill 2x02, I'd love for the season premiere to be a two parter.

Anyway, it sucks that all the good sci-fi series have to end at the same time of year leaving me with nothing to watch for 4-6 months.

I liked both of them, but I liked SG1's better. =D

    ***SPOILERS mostly for SG1***
I liked how they handled the Daniel scenes, with him eventually going back into Replicator Sam's mind. I know it seems like such an obvious thing but I didn't see it coming. I loved that battle above the planet too.

Interesting that Baal has a teleporter too, should be interesting to see how he comes back later on now that his fleet is pretty much gone.

All in all I thought both series had a great season finale, and I'm glad they're really getting into this mini story arc idea, with stories spanning 3 or 4 episodes at a time.

Ok, I'll admit, when I saw the first part to the siege, I was thinking, ok... this is nice...you know. It was good, but nothing over the top. Then I saw part two...WHE! I was flippin out! LOL. I love the way you get to see Atlantis fight back!! And the way the switch from area to area!, yeah, that was cool!

Now, as good as The Siege part two was, I have to agree with Xelios...Reckoning was AMAZING. I am one that leans more towards Atlantis if asked which I like better, but I have to say, especially the second part, Reckoning has killed the competion ten times over!! What I am anxious to see is Threads!!! Good ol' Oma! Always there, when you need her the most! LOL!

The producers say season 9 of SG1 will resolve almost all the storylines as it goes along, and that any one of them could be a great series finale, so we'll have to see how that goes. I'm very excited to see how it will end off =D

I'm hoping season 9 won't be the last, I mean they're getting new cast members and the show is as popular as ever.

I'm just crawling in my skin to see the rest of season 8, we've got 1 90 minute episode and then the two part season finale. If those even come close to the Reconing I'm going to have to remove my face from the screen with a spatula.

I would love to see a season 10 and whatever else...but I think season 9 will end it...I mean, O'Neill will be gone, mostly, and it will be tying up all the loose ends left form season 8...But you never know!!!LOL
