...a pirated copy of Lord of the Rings. Whenever I insert the cd the autoplay doesn't do anything so I open my computer and double click on the d drive (my cd drive). It then says that the device is not ready and asks if I want to retry. Nothing happens. I have windows 98. Is my pc not good enough to run the cd? Is there a program I need?

P.S I know the cd works because I watched the beginning between classes with a few friends.

    Shame on you!!

    anyway

can you see the file if you look at it in windows explorer?

if so, does it have the extension .avi?

if it does that means you need the divx codec that can be obtained from www.divx.com

you need to dload the codec and install it before you can watch the movie..

otherwise, can your cdrom drive read recordable cd's (cdr)

or is the movie on a cdrw ( rewritable cd)?

if so then alot of older cd rom drives can't read them..
