    ooh lots of things!

    Bank charges, taxes, the overall population of the planet, the size of this thread.
    The choice is many, plenty and enough

    One of my own...

    I'm of the earth and of the sea
    From mine to yours through factory
    Too much and your heart will break
    Too little, life will you forsake

    What Am I

    close

    Sometimes I have sense, sometimes I have none;
    Sometimes I offend, then you bid me begone;
    Sometimes I am merry, sometimes I am sad;
    Sometimes I am good, sometimes very bad;
    However, to make me, I cost many brains,
    Much labour, much thought, and a great deal of pains.

    esp: internet

    quite close, the actual answer is supposed to be books

    ismu: justice not bad, actually.

    I dig out tiny caves, and store gold and silver in them. I also build bridges of silver and make crowns of gold. They are the smallest you could imagine. Sooner or later everybody needs my help, yet many people are afraid to let me help them. Who am I?

    What do you buy only to deliberatly have someone take it away?
    It's very small but can travel great distances.

    esp, that could be something like a postage stamp?

    Albatross solution (you should have asked for more clues):

    They'd been caught at sea, no wind, and ran out of food...

    One night, his best friend was reported lost overboard...and the next morning, the captain announced that they'd managed to catch an albatross, and make soup with it.

    The albatross soup saved their lives...but the man had his suspicious. When he reached port, he ordered a bowl of REAL albatross soup...and eating it, realized that he'd been saved by eating his best friend.

    A simpler one of those then, there is a man dead in a forest, in full scuba gear, miles from the sea. How did he die?

    Actually he was picked up by a water spout and deposited there. It's not the fall it's the sudden stop.

    Not a water spout wet1, try again.
