Its legal in Germany, and in Amsterdam's red light district, and parts of Eastern Europe, some Asian countries...

should we make it legal in the USA too, its legal in Nevada in USA....would that cut down on sexually transmitted diseases including AIDS, would that end traficking of foreighners to the USA for prositution and brothels,

would it end all the violence and sexualy craziness we now have in this country,or it would it just worsen the system by now making the traffikers and pimps legal business men and the hookers paying taxes and losing their anomity!

I don't see why prostitution is illegal. People pay for sex all the time. Guys try and buy girls gifts for it, they buy em drinks at bars, all for one night stands, or a couple night stands.

    Silly rules.

Legalize it if and only if you are prepared to regulate the industry. I think that's the main road-block.

it legal here in licenced brothals, that means the employees get workcover and have to pay tax ect ect. It also means they have to be protected and are probably safer from exploytation by pimps (altho with the abolisiment of unfair dissmissal and the introduction of workplace agreements they are just as screwed as the rest of us)

Those who wish to retain (or regain) mental control over there sexual fantasy/inhibitions would not like the idea of legalized prostitution. The triumph of commercialization over the prostitution indusrty would be sickening. I do think the moral police do want to control your (and mine) personal freedoms, and that is sickening. I just don't think our culture is accepting enough of it's own sexuality to handle that kind of sensory overload at this point. Maybe I give Europe to much credit. I've never been so I don't know for sure.

Is it true there's no legalised prostitution in the USA? If so, I'm surprised.

In Australia, as Asguard said, certain forms of prostitution are legal (e.g. registered brothels).

There are some legal brothels in Nevada. I think that's the only state where they're allowed.

    The Bunny Ranch.

(I'm sure that link's not work-safe. I haven't browsed it myself, but I have no doubt that there is nudity involved.)

Remember that the women in these "houses" are checked on a 3 times a year basis with doctors. Some are checked more often but if they were to contract a disease between the doctors visits would you want to get whatever they caught?

The problem with prostitution isn't a matter of legalizing it, it should be a matter of NOT making it IL-legal. If the government "legalizes" it, they'll have to regulate it somehow ....with all of the issues of disease controls, etc.

Why not .......just make no laws against it? I.e., if a customer wants to take the risks, so be it. If he's married and takes it home to his wife and children, so be it. And likewise, if a prostitute contracts a disease from a customer, hey, tough tittie.

The problem is in the regulation of it. No government, regardless of how powerful and intrusive can "control" prostitution. So just don't ever arrest anyone for it ...let 'em pay and fuck to their hearts content ...and let the diseases spread all over the world like wildfires. What the hell difference does it make ...those diseases are being spread now, right?

Thanx now I spent a half hour looking at the Bunny Ranch!!! I think we should just keep that isolated in Nevada, if we brought it to the East coast, no guys would stay with their wife, if on the way home from work they pass a Bunny Ranch every day!! Temptation is bound to break down if a illegal recreational activity is made legal, convenient and available!!! And the mans wife, girlfriend will have to compete with what hes gettin at the ranch, the sisters won't be to happy to say the least, the sanctity of marriage and family as we know it now, as one half of marriages dont make it even, the odds will be even worse than, unless the women can have there own prostitution also, then the world would really be messed up!!!
