    my thoughts

im sure youve all had the smae thought at one time or another.... but this is my opinion...

i cant possibly sit here and read this entire post, let alone understand it.... but, i do agree that /777 is more than one person, and obviously it says, "we are...". second. s for the multiple ID's.. m kinda thinking /777 and rodent are the same "person"...

but i suppose anything is possible. honestly. this thread kinda gives me the creeps. -laughs-

To sum it all up he was a male nurse who messed around with us. His unveiling is in the last few pages I think. I'm ashamed to have the most posts on this thread, too. I was obsessed.

Sometimes, late at night, I think sciforums lost its innocence with /777- like we suffered such a great blow to our intellect that we abandoned trying to come up with creative ideas and instead insinuate the forums with the thread like "Do you Think Tyler and Xev are sleepinng togther?"

I was never one of the better posters, but by looking through the archives, I found an incredibaly higher level of the posts that I see today. Perhaps that is due to /777?

Looking back through this thread, I don't see that much of intellectual value. I see a guy playing a message board prank which I have seen before, although he did it very well, and a bunch of people being amazed by nothing much. For example the trick of using a NASA IP or something, it can be done with many programmes, yet it stimulated quite a lot of "Oh wow, that's so great!". I really don't see how anything has been lost.

Yes, we are getting a lot of crap threads right now, about shagging and personal insults and such. But also a great many very interesting threads.

Ok , since many say the replies in here are simple and all that , let me ask you this .
Does anyone has an opinion about the nuclear threat there is at the moment between india and pakistan, and do we have to do something about the fact many young people in eastern countries don't have a future nor the luxery we have in Europe and the US, and because of that they have a hatefull feeling again western countries....
Cause we ain't gonna solve this with a war again (Bush any chance you read forums?)
    Have fun
    your lovely Foo

This is what I meant about the lack of intelligence on sciforums- sure, /77 was not a very intelligent thread, but it's the others that I'm concerned about. We are currently spouting a lot of ignorant crap.

The fact that foolishkushin had to initiate some cookie-cutter debate about India and Pakistan to defend ourselves from being called 'simple' is horribly inidicitive of the path sciforums has taken. I've been looking through the archives, and the later pages, and the contrast in the level and variety of what is being discussed is stark. We curently have a lot of people who just want to mess around and, instead of learning, just state their opinions. This includes people like, sadly, Tyler, Xev, CatcusJack, and Lykan. I don't know what we can learn from numerous threds about 'favorite sex positions'.

Maybe this deserves its own thread in site feedback, bu I'd gladly use a poetry forum I frequent, the Poetry Free for All (right here) as a precedant. The administration there actually deletes posts, moves threads, and blocks members if the posts they receive there not up to par. In fact, in just 2 months of posting there, I could say (and my teacher would attest to this) that my poety has improved tenfold.

From now on, I'll also be deleting all the crap I see in Art/Culture.

We are aware of this thread. We intend to observe.

We learn from the effect of our posts in other discussions and see the shift of the threads topic to discussing ourselves.

Because of this, we will observe the posts of groups and keep participation to a minimum.

Your fascination with us may be of mutual benefit. Open discussion will allow for information to flow freely. We can learn of culture, motivations and science.

    We will perform experiments.

    We await your input.

Hmmm, I've been the member of pffa since August 2001. (Not posting there frequent though). Yes , it's a reat learning place, but this hasn't been always that way. The admins showed tht they are sadistic only last November. Yes, I can learn tere and increase my skills greately, and I'm thankful for tht, but they often make some people feel like shit. Very intolerant. Maybe it's for the best for the old proffesionals and I can take a few hits also, but they scare away a hell lot of new members.

p.s. damn, I haven't posted there for 4 months. need to write smthing

If this is a serious question: \777 is a guy called Jonathan, who tricked people into believing he was an AI or an alien or something.

He came forward on how he did it and posted pics of himself.

    End of story.

I started reading the first couple of pages. I noticed how the uber alien switched "there" and "their" at some point.

then I read the last pages, full of people saying they knew it all along and people admitting they felt cheated.

Then I searched backwards till I found the messages in which Jonathan explained how he did it. And he apologised too.

Yeah...I got scared away from PFFA at first, but then re-registered with a new alias and a new location. They are cruel, and I'm not suggesting that the admin. here should be cruel, but at least they crack down. We could crack down but be fairly nice about it, right?
