Yeah, wait for the PS3. Based on what I've seen, PS3 is the real next generation.

I've played the X-Box 360 already at EB. I was playing Call of Duty 2 and I have to say that it was awesome. The game immersion was incredible. I was playing for about 10 minutes, and a buddy came from behind, grabbed me and shouted "We're leaving now!" I jumped and shouted so the whole store could hear. Scared me shitless.

But if the PS3 is anything like what the previews make it seem, it's going to kick the X-Box 360's ass. I'm talking using raw processing power to do things that it's normally not used for (especially in terms of physics processing). Like rendering water, for instance. That's always been a kind of means to judge a game's graphics. "Yeah, well how does the water look?". I've seen some crazy shit with water and waves in some of those PS3 videos that I never thought I'd see in a videogame. Waves interacting with waves, interfering with one another. Water, acting like water, looking like water. In realtime rendering. I was mesmerized.

Plus the PS3 is going to be using a 'cell' processor, which has something like 9 cores working in parallel, compared to the X-Box 360, which uses 3 separate processors. Just a lot more power and potential.

Oh, I forgot that awesome Eyetoy tech demo for the PS3. I'd buy it just for that

360'll be better when contrasted to the PS3. The revolution isn't even in the race.

I'd suggest Xbox 360 - Perfect Dark Zero, Call of Duty 2, Project Gotham 3, DOA 4, Condemned, Oblivion and Dead Rising are the reasons why I'm buying it. No doubt Xbox Live will be miles ahead of what Sony can muster, simply because Microsoft have the experience. No doubt Halo 3 will follow suite...

PS3 will be more powerful,(system floating point performance is 1.5 teraflops, as opposed to the Xbox 360's 1) but no doubt more expensive. Plus it still has that awful boomerang shaped controller. Yuck. As much as I hated both the PS and PS2, PS3 seems to be shaping up quite nicely, and no doubt it'll have a bigger fan base. Though Warhawk, Killzone 2 (despite hating the original) and Metal Gear Solid 4 seem to be good reasons to buy one.

I'd ignore the Revolution - despite liking Ninteno and owning a Gamecube, it seems Ninty is on it's last legs. BUT out of all these three choice's, I'd upgrade my PC first and foremost if ya can afford it. Ain't nothing better

    I'm buying a 360 because I already have a 3.2Ghz, 2 Gb RAM and a GF6.

The Blu-Ray disc formatt is cool, but I dunno wether Sony will fully utilise it's benefits. If I were playing offline, and not over wireless broadband I'd wait for PS3. Then again Sony has been producing too much pre-rendered bullshit and not real footage. Plus the 360 has a better single player line-up atm, but prehaps thats because PS3 ain't out til at least the end of next year. But 360 for online support at least wins hands down.

Romantic candle lit dinners, walks in the park, sunday breakfast with the newspapers, in depth discussions on the meaning of life, children, talking with the elders, world peace, HIV, the starving millions, suicide bombers, guns in the street! Or the new PS3?
Fuck it go for the X box!

  18. I'm plumbing for the PS3 - I've got enough useless shite from microsoft, thank you very much, for my game playing pleasure I want something that actually works.

Sarge lard is true. But how can anyone forget about METAL GEAR SOLID 4. PS3 just plain looks nicer and i am a Sony-holic. EVerything Sony works.

But HALO 3 baby, thats the only reason to buy 360.
PS3 has everything else but that. (and a future KOTOR game).

having an xbox 360 of my own, and having several years of experience with different systems, i can say this.....the games always get better, year after year, while still running on the same hardware. madden 06 looks better than madden 05, which looks better than madden 04, despite the fact that they all run on the original xbox. just give the developers time to get used to coding for the new system, and you'll start to see the real power of both xbox and ps3 come to fruition.
