IMO saying something is "wrong" is equivalent to saying "My friend is going to beat you up for doing it, or physically stop or punish you for doing it".

If you say its wrong to steal something, but you steal it and get away, and there is no magical afterlife where you are punished for it but rather you just cease to exist after dying (something that is a possibility that I for one am not afraid of) what does it even mean to say its "wrong" or not? Absolutely nothing.

Its something thats said by one person who remembers being stopped or punished for something to another person in an attempt to force the world to adhere to the belief he has accepted (stealing is wrong) so that he doesn't have to face the possibility that he is the only one not allowed to steal or he was stopped that one time because he is somehow inferior to everyone else.

Saying something is right probably has more to do with compassion, ie you have someone who likes it when people appreciate his actions so he does things that he thinks are going to make people like him and then says these actions are "right".

Moral claims may in the end just be emotive or injunctive, that is, saying 'Stealing is wrong' is equivalent to saying 'I don't like stealing' or 'You shall not steal.'

Maybe 'right' and 'wrong' are just abstractions from emotions and regulations, the 'good' being following the rules and making sure other people like what you're doing.
