I utterly regret the decision to leave art school for what it is and dedicate my life to science. That is because a study indicated that artistic creative people seem to have more sexual success. On average they have more sexual partners.

Interestingly creativity and sexual success was also linked to schizophrenia. Creativity seems to have things in common with schizophrenia. It seems that an 'unconventional attitude to social rules' is common to schizophrenic and creative people.

And with that remark I start to feel better, since I also seem to have an unconventional attitude to social rules. I'm too sexy for my pants.

And let's put an evolutionary quote on the how and what of evolutionary success of creative people just for certain members of this forum:

Why did you make the leap of logic that more partners = success? A lot of the creative people I've known are not well developed in other aspects of life. Poor people skills leads to unsuccessful relationships, which can correlate with having more partners for shorter times.

I'm sorta creative guy type and I have no partners because I don't want them.
Somehow art seems a lot more beautiful and deeper to me, than some human relationship.

    here I go again, nitpicking....
but schizophrenia is not the same thing as multiple personality disorder. Schizophrenics suffer from paranoia and stuff, not different personalities...
I know I know, it means "split personality" but you can look it up yourself.

Yea, it's not like two or more complete and different personalities, just one personality that is split,
for instance when the thoughts don't equal with action, for example: madly laughing when seeing his child run ower by a car.

Artist is not a job, it's a way of seeing the world and putting it through your prism.

Because current sexual attitudes tell us that people should maximize the number of sexual partners they have.

    Or something.

    If you can, Romy.

    Assuming you are ambidexterous.

    And not dislexic.

Yea but I don’t consider that 4-6 partners from the age of 18 a lot (and the study made no requirement for those to be sexual partners)

Ah, you beat me to it.

If you want to know a bit more about Multiple Personality Disorder (or Dissociative Identity Disorder, nowadays) read 'Set This House in Order' by Matt Ruff. It's a novel, but a fantastic insight into the chaos of MPD.

SLUTTY GAY MEN have more sex... probubly the most...

so why not become a slutty gay man??

no... do not think that such statistics are true...

    its simple... for guys..

the guy who is not shy or afraid of rejection will ask out say.. 30 women.. maybe one will say yes, if he is lucky..

the other guy.. non sexual successful.. simply doesnt ask as many women.

    he doesnt try as hard.

the scientist knows about germs and desiese.. and it guides his behavior.

the artist... doesnt nessasarily know anything.. and doesnt nessasarily care.

not that i am bashing artists.. as i do have some talent.

but whats most important.. is your willingness to try.. regardless of failure.

as a scientist, you should be comfortable with that.. should. is the key word.

Just wanted to add that schizophrenia is one of those (numerous) areas of psychology, where no-one actually knows what it is. It's a whole lot of symptoms lumped together arbitrarily by psychologists. (for now)
